After walking some distance we finally came upon the Heritage Museum. Small but jam packed with a lot of historical information. You can get a staff member to walk around with you and get a more indepth understanding of the past.

Local and true-to-the-heart museum located on the river in historic downtown Stuart. Enjoyed every minute. See the humble beginnings of a seaside town and appreciate the true grit it took pioneers to establish a toehold here. I was amazed by what I could actually see...More

Truly a hidden jewel, this museum is run by volunteers that have lived the experiences that they showcase. Take the time to talk with the docents as they are the best!

Discovered this little gem of a small, local museum whilst out walking and exploring downtown Stuart. Warmly welcomed by two lovely ladies who explained that they were volunteers (the warm welcomes seem to follow everywhere I went in Martin County...). I was asked to sign...More

Ok, so this is a small museum about a small town. I took my Dad when he was in town and we stayed almost and hour. It is free admission. There were a ton of cute "older" volunteers.I really enjoyed. it.
