Nice quiet beach with beautiful setting and views. Great playground if you have children. Willies food stand is perfect for the situation. Nice safe water for children as well. The only draw back is it never gets deep enough It is extremely shallow and at low tide this does not allow one to swim. I believe that could be managed but I am sure there is some ridiculous environmental rational for not managing the sand in water level. Seriously there are mega miles of untouched coast line and only 2 beaches time beaches within 24 miles of each other. On the scale of things there is really no environmental impact to changing the bottom to accommodate some human activity that will not harm the marine life within a 48 mile stretch.

Cheap to get in $5, small beach with playground and concessions. Picnic tables are limited under shelter. The day was there was not busy and a storm blew in but I still had a nice time..

It is a beautiful piece of Florida's coastal beaches. There are barbecue grills, playground for children, fishing, kayaking and nature lookouts. In the several times I have been here not overly crowded. This is my go to beach when in the Spring Hill area. Shallow water is clear out to where it deepens. There are a lot of rocks, so be cautious of that. Other than that, I absolutely love this park.

The only reason I am giving this just 4 stars is it didn't appeal to us adults.
If we had children with us, it looked like a great place to let them explore the water. It seemed shallow in the swimming area and there are great picnic spaces and a playground.
If you decide to not pack a lunch, they have a little cafe on property as well.
It cost us $5 to enter.

We were excited to explore this park but couldn’t get in because the park was at max capacity. There were electronic road signs indicating this so we turned around. Bummer! Go early!

Beautiful place to view the sunsets! We saw dolphins, met lots of nice folks who were there to take in the sunset and take pictures also. Would love to come during the day and soak up some sun! We went about 5 the sunset was abt 5:40 and didn’t have to pay to park. There’s a large playground, picnic tables and a small cafe.

I guess if you have small children, this is a great place, since the playground looked like the best part. Or, if you've not been to many beaches before, it would be ok. However, it is most definitely someplace I will never return to. If you are looking for beauty, take your $5 and head elsewhere. The water is knee deep, the beach is small and crowded, and it was basically a parking lot with a bit of sand around it.

We always enjoy watching the sunset from Pine Island. Plenty of space to social distance. The water was beautiful. People were wading, swimming, fishing and playing in the playground. All areas are kept clean.

How is the swimming there? is it more like a bay? We love sand key and I just wonder how it compares

I haven’t been to sand key, but I wouldn’t say this is like a bay...I love the swimming there, but it’s not deep, maybe to your waste when the tide is in

Why was your parking free? I drove down that way after visiting the Bay Prot launch and saw a $5 parking sign. As a state run park I do not understand how they can charge us a fee. They have stuff to sell so, I guess I just don't understand.

I didn’t have free parking. They charge parking at all beaches in Florida that I’ve visited. I assume it’s to care for the beaches since there is no State income tax.

Weddings have been performed there. I think you have to contact a local wedding planner to arrange this sort of thing. Not sure if you can contact the park directly.
