If you are craving peace and tranquility, a walk amongst the pine trees bordering the Ochlockonee River is the place to go. The silence was broken by an occasional swamp type boat, but otherwise, it is just you and the bird life, tweating happily away...More

Florida definitely puts resources toward its state parks as this one was well maintained even though it's quite out of the way. We came here for the sole purpose of seeing the endangered Red-cockaded woodpecker, an unusual species that nests in live trees unlike other...More

A true hidden gem of the Florida Park Service. Peaceful and relaxing. Lots of wildlife- white squirrels and a white deer! Small but with enough hiking trails to fill your time.

Beautiful setting along the Ochlockonee River. Smallish campground with very tight spaces. Many are difficult to back into if you are inexperienced. There is a boat launch, plenty of fishing sites, playground, hiking trails that can be turned into loops. Bath house is old and...More

Definitely worth the side trip and small entrence fee off Hwy 319 in Wakulla County. We stopped for a picnic lunch on a weekday and had the place to ourselves , except for the beautiful white squirrels.` Great picnic area on the river, neat scenery.

This has always been a favorite state park. I put it in the top 5 and I've been to all 175 of them. We were fortunate this time and the piebald deer was up and about. We love watching the white squirrels. The very first...More

Beautiful park with boat launch, hiking , and Day park-picnic. RV sights are close together and some present a challenge for larger rigs otherwise provides a lot of natural habitat for enjoying Florida. No shopping in the local community so come stocked up with food-supplies.
