This beach named for and known for turtles laying eggs during certain times of the year but otherwise a quiet beach with few waves. The gray sand is very different from Siesta Key and the waves are minimal at most so plan your trip accordingly.

We spent 2 days on Siesta Beach and 2 days on Turtle Beach. Turtle Beach does not have vending machines, or snacks for sale, or life guards. It DOES have nice bathrooms, lots of space on the beach, and amazing sunsets for pictures. Lots of shells. NIce swimming, The beach area is not as deep as Siesta. And the sand... More

We love Turtle Beach for the shells and the parking and the nearness of the Gulf. No long walk to the water at this beach. However, at high tide, it is a little difficult for people with not so strong knees to get out of the water, due to a small tide incline at the water's edge. Low tide is... More

Fishing is great you can catch, snook, red fish, lady fish, jacks even small shark from the surf only casting no more than 15 feet out into the deep channels...... Bait, use shrimp, live or frozen, spoons or lures.... Each fisherman within a few minutes will... More

This is a great little beach! Nice sand! Good shells and great views. Not to crowded this day. Bathrooms are nice, but, a good distance away! The water was fantastically turquoise, felt like a real tropical paradise!

Turtle beach has more Gray sand but it's a very nice beach. Please check red tide status or you will end up coughing with dead fish washing ashore. This beach is walking distance to some nice waterfront restaurants.

This beach has darker sand than the white sand of Siesta Beach. The shore line dips into water creating a steeper incline. The beach is narrower. There is public parker and restroom facilities.
