Love the area, but until South West Florida gets Red Tide under control, my advice would be to plan your vacation for someplace away from the Florida Gulf Coast.

The Gulf always has the better beaches in Florida, and Siesta Beach is among the Gulf’s very best. It features a wide expanse of white sand with emerald waters. The county has done an excellent job of building a park around the beach. There is...More

We were staying in Ft. Myers but unable to enjoy the beaches in the area because of the “red tide”,so we headed north and were not disappointed. The beach was vast with white, sugary sands. The water was refreshing with some mild waves. You could...More

Walked short distance to this beach every day or night. Only way to view sunsets. Beaches are open although many condos only provide chairs for the guests.

Great place. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Grounds were very accommodating to the beach and pool as well as checking out of beach chairs and towels.

Siesta Beach can’t be beat! It’s beautiful with its wide expanse of soft white sand that doesn’t burn your feet. The bathroom facilities are clean and well-stocked. There’s a gift shop in case you forget something you need and a huge parking lot.

The beach is nice. Excellent seafood. Cool place to catch a sunset, and lots to do in and around the Clearwater area.

Water is crystal clear and the sand is like baby powder. It’s quite and seems to be family friendly.

Are you referring to your Belize beach or Siesta Key's beach? Siesta Key has an ongoing problem with Red Tide, the smell may be related.

It is much better than it was several weeks ago. The Red Tide is several miles offshore and may be an issue if you go fishing. But, as of now, the beach on Siesta Key is nice. The winds may blow it back in... There are... More

Not the best snorkeling. We were there for a couple calm days and the kids and I did snorkel a bit but more for looking for shells close up. Not good distance visibility.
