Hiked a couple of trails. Great time. Great geocaching here! Definitely recommend. And if it's your first time make sure to visit the restaurant and gift shop.

Very nice location. A little too busy during peak tourist season, but everything in Florida is. Worth the price of admission. The canopy walk was closed when we were there but I've heard it's great.

We took a quick day trip from Anna Maria Island to Myakka River State Park during a weekday in May. We were impressed with the hiking trails and the beautiful Palm trees. We saw alligators, raccoons, deer and of course many different types of birds. The area has been affected by the drought so the park was not offering airboat... More

This park has a great deal to offer. Fishing, hiking, bicycling, camping, bird watching, horse trails and great experiences like the airboat & tram tours. Went on the airboat ride out onto the lake where we observed alligators - lots of alligators! The tram tour took us through areas where we observed wildlife and a narrative of the history of... Great place to spend the day, or two....great camping and wonderful natural areas to explore. Be sure you ask about the Deep Hole. It's a little bit of a walk...2.3 miles in, and than again out...but well worth it....note that they only give a low number of permits per day to visit the Deep Hole, so show up early and... More

I live a little less than an hour and a half from this park and never expected to find such a beautiful, lush environment so close to where I live in Fort Myers. For locals, I definitely recommend checking it out if you've never been and if you're an out of towner traveling along I-75 in the Sarasota, Venice area,... More

Real ambiance of inland Florida for folks of all ages, adaptable environment should there be special needs to be met. A variety: walking, sitting, boat trip, educational. Do watch time schedule, best time for visit is morning or early afternoon.

Again it was not a first visit, but as always fun experience. Mother Nature delivered. Crocs were abundant suntanning. Canopy walk a real treat. Restaurant a bit overpriced but a gift shop delightful. Price is still $5 per car which is a good value. Plenty of photo ops

We spent one night here in May & definitely could've stayed longer. Unfortunately, the drought has affected this park as it has the rest of Florida. Most of the river is too low for paddling, so we never even put the kayak in. The canopy walk is fun, however, and we walked every boardwalk and nature trail. After sunset, we... More
