A beautiful little village displayed to give one a new perspective of life on the island in the 1880's through the 1940's. It was a rough existence and they were real pioneers for their time. Amazing a Sear's kit home was assembled in this remote...More

A wonderful way to step back in time. Our guide, Catherine was excellent. She explained everything in such detail and made the tour very interesting. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours on a beautiful day.

Admittedly, I had visited Sanibel many times before I ventured over the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village. My bad. It's a lovely spot to learn about the history of the island and the fascinating people who inhabited it early in modern times. It doesn't take...More

We enjoyed the tour of this museum/village last week with Ted Hoesel. His presentation was intended to give you a initial overview of each building and then he invited you to go back and spend more time as you wished. We took that opportunity and...More

Love this little museum and village! They do an amazing job educating about the island and it's history. You can tell the staff love what they do and those whom have donated to this wonderful place love it as well!

It was great to learn and see the history of this remarkable place. The gentleman leading our tour was very learned about the Island history. Just be careful when you plan your visit because they aren't open every day.

I didn't see anyone in a wheelchair the day we were there. However, to see some of the historical buildings you had to go up/down steps. Probably best to check with them.
