Fun spot to walk to and there is public parking and beach.

We were close to this so walked and biked up there several times. It was fun to watch the fisherman and see both sides of the peninsula. There was an Osprey that was building... read more

What an amazing sunset walk! Parked, walked to the Sanibel Lighthouse, turned, went to the City of Sanibel Fishing Pier and saw dolphin and egrets. Tide was out and hundreds of tiny crabs could be seen skittering in the shallows. Sunset from the Pier was rosy and wonderful. I love where I live!

We were close to this so walked and biked up there several times. It was fun to watch the fisherman and see both sides of the peninsula. There was an Osprey that was building it's nest on top of a brick chimney while we were there so that was fun to watch as well. They were doing some construction work... More

Unlike the ighthouses we are used to in Maine, this one is made of steel and isn't too attractive. However, the trails to get to the lighthouse are amazing, it is like being in a tropical paradise. A must see.

Every time I am on vacation I always enjoy spending time here. This last trip I sat and watched dolphins swim are the shoreline for hours. . The walking paths are nice to enjoy. A must see!

The beaches in and around the lighthouse are spectacular - powder soft sand and great surf. The lighthouse itself is kind of ugly and doesn't really fit with the beauty of the rest of the island.

Nice beach, because of its location it's not too sandy, but views are awesome and so are walking trails. Great place to spend last few hours of sunlight. Or early morning with a coffee.

You can't climb this lighthouse and it doesn't have a visitor's center. But what you can do is go there in the evening right around dusk, and stroll the beach around the point as the lighthouse flashes. And if you do go there for a dusk stroll, you won't want to leave. The setting and atmosphere were so nice and... More

We were staying in Ft Myers and wanted a day trip to the beach and Sanibel Island was recommended. We paid the $6 to cross the bridge and after driving all over the island trying to find public access, we finally found the Lighthouse area. Beach here is very narrow with lots of shells and ok for kids and families.... More

Could not visit due to construction! Could not even get a glimpse. Only view was a distant one from the causeway.

The lighthouse itself was not as impressive as many others that I have seen but the area around the lighthouse is beautiful!!
