Great place for a walk in nature with opportunity to see Florida's endangered birds nursed back to health and long walks on their well marked trails. Great folks to tell you about the area or discover the area yourself. Well worth the 3 dollar admission fee for a few hours in the sunshine. See gators, turtles and more.

Went solo in mid-January to photograph local birds. The site includes a rescue aviary where large birds are given a chance to recover from injuries, including a bald eagle, two species of owls, and others. Pathways are well laid out, and mapped. Only spent an hour there, but saw an osprey and my first black-hooded parakeet. Front desk personnel were... More

This was our first visit. We were amazed at the number of trails to walk. There is so much to do and see. Plenty of birds!!! Outside the center are some nice picnic areas, restrooms, and a playground. We will return often.

It's always a fantastic place to have a leisurely walk with or without kids. The bird section is fascinating and love looking for alligators!

I went with my 6 year old grandchild who is a frequent visitor and I learned a lot from him about Floridas natural environment. It is very quiet which makes it a nice oasis.

My husband and I took our 4 kids (ages 7-12) to the Boyd Hill Nature Park & Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center today. The nature center is one of the best I've been to - LOTS to see and touch and read. Some live animals, some statues and skeletons, and a wide variety of facts and stories. And the admission... More

Great place to take your family. Hike is level and easy. I think it could easily take someone in a wheel chair. We saw over 20 gators. There is lots to see.

This small preserve at the southern tip of St. Pete has 6 miles of trails & a variety of habitats. The educational center is well-done & staff are helpful. We saw a family of raccoons, several baby alligators, and many raptors & water birds, all in an hour's visit.

We casually strolled approx 5 miles of walking trails observing the various birds, mammals, reptiles and vegetation. Cool thing is that there is plenty to see if you can walk a couple hundred yards. Well kept and a bit of peace in an otherwise busy city.

Six of us spent nearly four hours, mostly outside, at this wonderful nature preserve in S. St. Petersburg. There are nearly five miles of land, lake and trails with beautiful birds, alligators, rare turtles and a variety of trees and vegetation. We had a tram tour with a delightful volunteer who was also a bird expert, which was our great... More
