There is no charge to visit Sawgrass and it is a great place to check out some Florida wildlife and fauna. There is lots of parking and there are restrooms. Put bug repellant on and if you have binoculars they could come in handy. It’s...More

Sawgrass Lake Park is perfect for birders who prefer boardwalk trails to more difficult trekking. There are plenty of birds to be observed, including hawks, night herons, and pileated woodpeckers, and photo opportunities are abundant. Getting there is half the fun. Driving down a narrow street lined with modest single story houses, speed bumps, and a wonderful driveway with trees arching over until they nearly touch. Clearly a place for meditating and nature. Everyone we passed by was bubbly with...More

This is a place to walk over a mile of elevated boardwalks and observe flora and fauna above and below. You will see many kinds of subtropical ducks, birds, alligators (old and young), fish, snakes, armadillos, and small mammals. The only detraction is its proximity...More

Travelers looking for a natural diversion should enjoy this municipal park. We have been twice over several years. There are improved and elevated walking areas winding through plenty of nature. No entry fee. Easy to forget you in the middle of a city.

This is a good time of year to say that it is pretty safe that you won;t see snakes, They are likely underground because of the cold.
