For some strange reason I've never been here...you know how locals rarely enjoy the places closest to them? My daughter and I were spending the day together and as this day was one of the best of Florida "winter" days we decided to go to...More

We took my grand daughter (aged 5) there on 31 December, 2018. We saw a year old gator, one about 3, and an adult. We spotted two soft shell turtles, two sliders, and countless birds. With three good trails, all on board walks, this is...More

We loved this spot! We traveled here with our kids (10 & 8) that are both very active, so the walking wasn’t an issue at all. If you want to experience real Florida critters without visiting a zoo, this is the place! Within 5 minutes...More

This is a wild area containing potentially dangerous animals. However, it is possible to walk around it, in relative safety, using a network of raised timber boardwalks. We saw a large alligator, turtles and various bird species. A lovely way to spend half a day

Very nice boardwalk with florid flora and alligators, birds and even an armadillo! Ideally need binoculars for the birdlife. Also leisurely walk along paths off boardwalk back to the visitor centre and carpark.

Very nice park where you can have a shady walk through nature. Being able to walk on the boardwalk is very comforting and allows you to see all of the natural parts of the park without being afraid of stepping on something. The resident alligator...More

We just had over an hour and it was the best decision to go this park. Its a mile long boardwalk along the lake and dense trees. Its calm and we could spot many baby alligators, chameleons and a wide variety of birds. The park...More

I came to this park hoping to do some bird watching. I was quite surprised I did not see many unique birds since there is nice vegetation and a nice lake. The board walks are very nice. It did not take very long to walk...More

This was our first time coming here, though we are in the area quite often. The park is not large and can be covered in about an hour or so. We saw lots of birds along with a couple gators. There are restrooms and plenty...More

This park has an extended walkway through a sawgrass swamp and a tower that overlooks a lake. If you want a quite stroll on a level walkway for an hour or so, come here. Parking was free, restrooms were available, and there were picnic tables...More

This is a good time of year to say that it is pretty safe that you won;t see snakes, They are likely underground because of the cold.
