Jungle Prada tour is a wonderful educational and entertaining experience.
We took our visitors to the Jungle Prada tour today, Sunday March 19th, and all four of us walked away satisfied! More than satisfied really as the guide, the guide is the grandson of the original owner, shared an informative narrative throughout the tour. If you ever wondered anything about Florida, the original natives, the conquistadors, lands and islands then this trip is for you. Worth every penny.

Wonderful Guided Tour of American Indian Site
The tour is wonderful and let by the owner, a professional horticulturist. He offered a fascination tour of the indigenous plants, the First Nation mound and artifacts from the area. It's a beautifully kept park and I highly recommend the tour.

    Must See in St Pete
Dave our guide on the walk thru the historic grounds was funny informative enthusiast! It was so fun to learn the history of St Pete, the Tocobaga Indians and our own special sacred site in St Pete. Lived here in St Pete for 30 years. Had no idea! The walk is easy, lots of shade. A must see especially for folks who embrace the uniqueness of St Pete!❤️

We arrived very early for a visit of the adjacent Jungle Prada history tour, so enjoyed this park until it began. There is plenty of parking and for bird lovers, many of types of the feathered flocks to photograph or simply watch from one of the benches on the boardwalk.

A plaque on the grounds commemorates the first Catholic mass to be held in Florida which was determined to be on 16 April 1528.

There is ample parking and there are a few picnic tables in the shade of the trees on the highway side of the park. Apparently entrance to the park is free.

This park should not be confused with the St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour which is adjacent.

Took my kids, husband and in-laws to hear and see more history about the area. David delivered just the right amount of information to our small group. The gardens and peafowl (peacocks) were lovely and great water view. My entire family talked about what a neat tour this was and we were impressed with David’s enthusiasm and knowledge.

I grew up in the jungle terrace area and this was one of my favorite spots to ride my bike to as a kid. So peaceful and such a great spot to soak in the views.

This park is a small. It's set on a mound if you are not able to walk on any inclined areas I would not suggest it. There is a dock with a view of the waterfront..

David is the third generation of his family to be devoted to the preservation of this beautiful and historic site, and he is an excellent guide to the history and environment in which the Indian mound is located.
We learned a lot...and the experience is enhanced by the fact that David is a certified horticulturalist and can explain in detail about the many unusual plants on the property...not to mention the peacocks and peahens roaming the property,
This is absolutely worth a visit and an hour or so of your time

I was there on Christmas Eve. With my aunt, uncle, cousin, his wife and son. After eating at the Jungle Prada Tavern restaurant, I suggested we walk out on the boardwalk, as I have never done that yet. And what we encountered were three homeless people bundled up against the bitter cold winter weather sitting on their own benches across the boardwalk. I was glad I was there with 2 of my male family members, as I did not feel safe as a woman walking on the boardwalk. It is a shame that these people had nowhere to live, but it was very unsettling to try to enjoy the water when you did not feel safe.
