Be careful here. VERY swift currents. Normally no trouble at all to drive through, BUT, If a thunder storm is rolling in with high winds, it can go south in a hurry.

This is a great place to fish but very dangerous. Heavy caution should be used by everyone because of the heavy, Swift current. Also, we'll traveled by sharks so stay out of this water. Sikes Cut connects Apalachicola Bay to the Gulf.

We stay on the plantation specifically so we can go to the cut. My husband loves to fish there and we set up our beach gear there. We've caught blue crab and found lots of shells. It's also a great place for pictures.

We've been here a few times. This time, we circled Little St. George Is. by boat and entered into the bay through Bob Sikes Cut. It's just pretty with the pristine Little St. George on one side and some pricey SGI houses on the other....More

A cut is a cut! The water roars through here from the gulf to the bay and it is interesting to view, but that is the beginning and the end of the story.

Bob Sikes Cut divides St. George Island. Its easy to get to by boat or if you live on the Plantation (a private gated community). Otherwise its a long hike. The cut is a perfect place to fish for redfish, sheephead, and other surf fish....More
