We Loved this!!

We went to the jail on a late night tour, it was awesome. The stories are fascinating and the actors were fantastic. What fun for the whole family.

I have been all over the World and seen some wacky attractions, however nothing quite like this. It is Historic, it is fun, it is unique, educational. What can I say. Although I believe you have to see this at least once if you visit the area, not sure it has the appeal of a Disney ride where you would... More

I loved the history and antiques. The tour guides were knowledgeable and humorous. But, my young children lost interest quite early. Not so great after that.

The guided tour doesn't take long as the jail is a small three story building that still help over 70 prisoners at one time. It gives you an idea of what was faced by people locked up during the early twentieth century, while still being entertaining.

Our tour guide of the jail was "poison ivy". She was dressed up in jail outfit. She really made the tour fun as she really got in the character! Might be a little scary for little kids. Have to climb stairs to see second floor.

It's the guides that make jail living and torture and hard time fun!!! Hazel was our guide...and made learning about the conditions and hard times of Jail interesting, informative and fun to learn about. That was definitely a time when you paid for your wrong doings. Learning about the food, environment, conditions, labour, accommodations, and punishments for doing bad things.... More

Spent a week in St. Augustine and one of the highlights of the trip was our tour of the old Jail with Otis. He was wonderful. Played his character to the full extent, was very knowledgeable and entertaining for us and our kids. Saw him the next day pulling a convict off our trolley in the depot and dragging him... More
