I learned about the sediment that constitutes the fort walls and how the canon balls when they impact the wall actually made the fort stronger. The water lapping was peaceful there too.

Displays, restoration, and talks are continually being improved. This is a GRAND chunk of fascinating history. Kids will like it, too - climb the battlements and look out over the bay. Daily cannon firings.

One of the NHS, the fort offers a overlook of the river and a 16-centurary Spanish city look. The roof is also good for photo.
