A national treasure with good tour leaders. A good look into the living in the 18th century walled city.

While the commercial downtown is a phenomenal collection of boutiques and shops, the Castillo de San Marcos fort is the real thing. Run by the park service (therefore, well run), it's the best reason to visit this town. The history, artifacts and events are first class.

Worthe the stop if you have some time. Well preserved nd documented.Bear in mind you will need to pay $10épers admin + another $5 for parking. You can however leave the car there and walk to St.George street which is cool.

Easy walking. Interesting to read all the history. As a retired teacher it was nice to see several classes on field trips touring this historical site.

A wonderful, historical fort with lots of displays and information. If you can take the time to listen to the ranger's presentation, do so. It is well worth it. Lots of room to walk around. Great places for good pictures. If you have an annual pass or the senior pass to national monuments, it is of no cost!!

The Castillo is the #1 spot to visit in St. Aug, and with good reason. There isn't much to say that hasn't been said already, but I can point out the friendliness of the staff-- I was even offered the senior discount that covered our entire group, including the grand-kids, without my even asking for it. The landmark provides a... More

This was my husbands 1st trip to St Augustine florida. Several people had referred us to scope this place out & so glad we did. Learned a lot and saw a lot they even shot cannons and dressed up back in the day.
