I have been going to this park for 30 years and it is always a relaxing visit. The canopied drive with the oaks is worth the visit alone. And the best part...it is free!!! Unlike Honeymoon Island (they even charge bicyclists to enter)! Take a picnic lunch, walk or bike the road, or walk along the water, watching various birds.... More

Fantastic park with pavillions and historical Indian mound and surroundings. Childrens playground is located near Indian mound along with gorgeous old oak trees which have limbs hanging to the ground. No playing on limb sign is there but located in a bad area. Children still climb the beautiful limbs. Water views of the bay and walking paths. Easy to get... More

I've been coming to Philippe Park since I was a boy. It has changed greatly over the years, and to the better. The park is well maintained, clean, playgrounds, open grassy areas, shade, walking, outdoor picnic tables and covered pavilions. Taking children is recommended as the playgrounds are fully equipped, clean, and safe. Here they can run, jump, and play... More

We spent about two hours walking some of the trails at Philippe Park. The water front trail was lovely and not too hard to walk. There were some steep stairs that might be difficult for folks not in good physical shape. The trails above the waterfront were also very beautiful. Hope to return again in the spring which I think... More

Lovely park to walk along, with friends, with your dog, with a group (under the pavillions), at the beach, etc.

My husband and I had a staycation so we took a walk in this lovely park. While this isn't a huge park there are lots of lovely things to see. The waterfront is lovely and the Indian mound is an impressive site. I will return and I'll bring a camera!

Wow, I am a native Safety Harboranian! I have been visiting Phillippe park for decades, yes decades! Before conservation groups formed, I would dig for Indian relics such as arrow heads, tools, pottery and more! Now no digging aloud! Sitting along the Tampa bay shores one can stay a whole day and never get bored! There is a launch area... More
