This is no Rapids, but it cools you off on a hot day. Right as you walk in, you see a zero entry, water playground with one spiral slide and two mini water slides whish is perfect for younger kids. At one end, there are a couple little water fountains coming out of the water. The water depth is not more than two feet and kids can "swim" if they try hard enough. A little further from here is the lazy river. There is one official entrance and guests have to wait for the lifeguard to hand them a tube before they are allowed to get in the water, but they do not tell people they have to get out, so get there early or go on a slow day. The lazy river is not that wide, so staying together can be hard and traffic jams are common on busy days. When trying to get out, the force of the river can be strong and pull smaller ones who cannot touch the bottom, so be prepared to grab or tell them to hang on to their tube or the wall if it happens. Lifeguards are great about this and will hop in the water and wrangle children if need be. At the other end of the park is the pool. There is an area for swimming, lanes for laps, and a separate side for the diving boards. To go on them, one has to compete a swim test in the furthest lane with the life guard watching. Outside here is the path that leads to the water slides and lily pads. There is a swim test for the lily pads and the lifeguards here can be strict if you do not do it exactly right. Not little kid friendly in my opinion. There are two slides and they have a height limit. It is on the honor system though, so ride as you wish. One slide is open while the other is closed. The closed slide can slam people around, especially smaller ones. Putting hands up on either side of the head while riding can keep them from hitting their head on the slide as they go down. It honestly happens more than one would think.
When you walk in, on the right are lockers and women's bathroom and the male bathroom on the left. Do note that one entrance/exit to the men's room is by the exit while the other is by the pool. The water fountain is also by the pool. There are lounge chairs all around the water playground, as well as a covered eating area next to the concession stand. Over by the pool is a long picnic table with small umbrellas. These are first come first serve. During the summer, Monday through Friday, the tables under the big umbrellas are for summer camps only. If you put your stuff at a table and they need it, the lifeguards will move it because you did not follow their rules/read their signs. They also know whose stuff belongs to who, as they walk the summer camps in and place them in a spot, so do not think you can pull one over on them. I watched several people try this, and it almost resulted in them getting kicked out when they started to get loud and confront both the camp and lifeguards.
Outside food and drink is not permitted, though it is possible to leave a cooler in the car and drive to the park next door. If you are feeling up to it and have a rolling cooler, it is quite possible to walk to the park. Just go out the exit of the waterpark, turn left, and follow the sidewalk all the way down. There are a few covered picnic tables, and most that are not under the gazebo, are shaded by trees. The park offers swings, two separate play structures, a soccer, field, and bathrooms. So it is a good, shaded, quiet break from the park. As long as you have your wristband still on, you can get back into Calypso Bay, no problems. For those who want to stay in the park and eat, the concession stand offers slices of pizza, hot dogs, nuggets, French fries, chips, slushes, soda, and typical waterpark food. Directly across from the concession stand on the other side of the water playground is a snack stand. There they have chips, cookies, icees, and Mini Melts (generic Dippin' Dots). Prices are average to cheap, depending on what you get and how you look at it.
If lightning is in the area, a siren will sound, all water features will turn off, and the life guards will demand that you not only get out of the pool but get under a roof. This means you have to leave where you are, head towards the entrance, and stand against the walls of the bathroom, concession stand, lifeguard area, or the lockers under the overhang of the roof. Get to a spot quick if possible, or you will have to cram in with a bunch of strangers.

This is one of the best water parks in south Florida. It really is a great kept secret. It's not something you can see from the main road and I have been there with my kids 2 and 6 about four times now. You can spend all day there. Admission is next to nothing. Ten bucks I think. They have lounge chairs and locker rental. The restrooms and showers are clean and I have never been there when it's been crowded. The water play areas are clean and the life guards are very attentive. The kids play area in the middle is so much fun. Kids run and play and have a great time in about a foot of water and it's beach entry. This whole area is surrounded by lounge chairs for the parents that have older kids. The slides and lazy river are fun and we never experienced a line. The snack bar had a nice selection of food and there was plenty of seating. Prices weren't bad either. There is bench areas outside the park for picnics so of you prefer you can load up the cooler and take a break for lunch. Don't forget sunblock and towels as I did not see any for sale there. They do give you a swim diaper if your child is under two. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the admission man at the desk was a little snotty and because while playing with my daughter I sat in gum and ruined my bathing suit and had to be grossed out the rest of the day with a big blue wad of gum stuck to my butt. Also the chlorine was a little strong so be careful if your kids have sensitive eyes. So there are a few areas for improvement but overall a really nice time.

Place made for kids! , the waterpark attractions are good, clean and kids will enjoy it a lot. The small children section is the one suggested. The place has a relatively big parking area, food around is not the healthiest but serves the purpose....

With plenty of loungers and chairs to sit and a shallow water park to play in - this place was fun! Lots of friendly young staff and lifeguards (who take their job VERY seriously), a concession stand with typical food (nothing healthy here) and a day filled with lots of sunshine - well - the place was great.
You cannot bring your own food or drinks in to the facility, but there is a spark right next door if you want to picnic. But it is a walk. Bring a cooler with wheels.
The kiddie area is shown, there's also a lazy river and a four-story slide for kids taller than 48".
GO EARLY, BRING SUNSCREEN, and have a splashingly goid time!

We recently visit the Calypso Bay waterpark, it's a fun, refreshing, well care for place to spend the day with the kids and family. And the best thing it's so affordable, all four of us got in for $40 tax included. You can rent a locker like for $3 so you can put all your stuff and not worry to leave it unattended while you enjoy all the park has to offer. Our favorite was the lazy river. Definetly coming back to this place.

I attended a birthday party at Calypso Bay on June 20, 2015. First, I was disappointed with the lack of tables available. There are no large umbrellas with tables available for rent as I've seen elsewhere. There is a covered area with small tables that are first come first serve. Next, the lazy river. The line was incredibly long and once we got to the front we realized why; there was no lifeguard or attendant at the start/finish point making people get off after one go around so kids and adults would just keep going and everyone just had to wait. Thirdly, the apparatus with the slides was a little dangerous in my opinion. The handrails on the stairs extend out way too far! My three year old would look down at the stairs as he ascended and would hit the handrail right at eye level. He came home with bruises on his eye brows! There also was a shortness in lifeguards for the slides. Many children didn't wait for the bottom of the slide to be clear and they knocked over the child in front of them. I also saw a lot of "material" falling from the slide. I have frequented many county parks water parks and this was a huge disappointment.

This water park is decent fun for small kids, 12 and under. For two adults and two kids it was $40 entry fee. I suppose that is fair considering Rapids water park is $40 per person, that's a joke. For a city run park its decent in terms of cleanliness. It was actually a little cleaner than I thought it would be, except for the bathrooms, those were kind of gross. I would not imagine going in there without flip flops. I would definitely invest in a locker. It was worth the one trip for us passing through on our way to the keys, but I don't need to go back for more. Even if I lived in this area it would not be a place to frequent often, maybe two to three times a summer would suffice.

My daughter went for a field trip so we wanted to go the week after. The water slides are great, the lazy river is fun and the play area is great! Also the pool there is amazing! My daughter wanted to go on the diving board and you had to take as swim test. I would recommend it to anybody with children! Tons of family fun!!

The only problem is don't have any lighting in the area, because there rules are very stringent about this. I believe they use a 0 mile radius and the time is 30 minutes with no lighting we waited for an Hour and a Half during which time it never even rained and finally left.
