A five minute boat ride get you here. Some families bring big coolers and grills and spend the day. This was once an active Coast Guard Station, and the first building you will see is the boathouse, now the welcome center. The big house is the old coast guard quarters, now the museum. We signed up for the tour, the... More

I'm not comfortable taking kids to the beaches on Florida's east coast. Beaches drop off too steeply and the waves are too big for the littler ones. Peanut Island is the answer unless you want to drive 2 or 3 hours over to the west coast. The island is in the middle of the itracoastal waterway and protected from the... More

What an awesome little island well worth whatever cost. Quaint gift shop with helpful staff. Feed the fish. Swim. Build sand castles. Snorkel. Visit the bunker. Lots of fun

Been in West Palm Beach for almost two years and finally made it to Peanut Island a couple of days ago. What a beautiful place. If you like snorkeling, this place is awesome. Saw all kinds of beautiful fish, just wish I had a GoPro already. Getting one before going back for sure. We got there at high tide and... More

Cute place. Windy day and current was strong. Was a cool day so i did not snorkel, mostly b/c the other tourists there said they did not see anything worth jumping in for. Water is very clear n blue. Tour of JFK's Bunker was worth every dollar of the $16 it cost me, especially b/c Ozzie Osborne n his son... More

Peanut Island has some of the best FREE snorkeling around. All you need is your own snorkeling gear! The beach is a little small in spots but was well worth the trip over. I will be back even time I visit!

Went to Peanut Island primarily to go snorkeling and I was not prepared at how beautiful the island itself was going to be. We took a very short ferry over from Sailfish Marina Resort for about $12 roundtrip. Great resort grounds, friendly staff. On the island, we did the loop around it before heading into the water. It only took... More

Stopped here after the majestic Princess cruise. There's a ferry that will take you to the island for $12 per person. We toured the Coast Guard house and bunker and found that extremely interesting. That cost another $12 per person There's also a nice area on the island for snorkeling and we will probably go back to explore the rest... More

My husband and I went this past weekend and because I misunderstood I left all our beach gear in the car. But beside that I found it to be a nice little place to get wet.

Worth going for the day with your family. Found out they have weddings and other partys on the island. Can see why. The picnic area are great. It looks like a tropical island with the grass huts
