A little gem. Accessible by short ride in boat or water taxis. No condos/homes. Small, clean beach, with small lagoon for great snorkeling. Bring gear and let loads of fish surround you.

The Ferry price is the only complaint. $12.00 for 1/4 mile boat ride is a little high. Once you arrive there showers, restrooms and picnic tables. A great snorkeling spot for kids.

The ferry is kinda high for the venue according to other ferry sites. It’s a very short ride. Peanut island was a nice place to visit and snorkel. Bring your own gear Bring your own food.

Snorkeling: Human-made rock barriers and lagoon provide protected, calm waters for snorkeling. Colorful reef fish and crabs, plus the occasional rays, octopuses, turtles, upside-down jellyfish, and manatees, make it worth your while. For your picnic, Peanut Island has grassy areas with pavillions, tables, and grills...More

Yes, we saw lots of dogs playing by the beach and sandbanks. The ferry taxi allows animals.

On the east side of the island is best place, that is where the beach is. There is a per person fee to ride the ferry, that is the only cost.
