This old fashion road side attraction was a delightful surprise. Well worth the admission price. Looking forward to going again. Thankful for the time, money, and love that has been put into this museum.

The huge building is chocked full of carnival, circus, and traveling show memorabilia. Large video monitors and colorful signs explain in detail what you're looking at. With two floors (an elevator is easily accessible) and plenty to see from a hundred-year-old Ferris Wheel, old carnival games and a theater that shows free movies, to Buffalo Bill's six-shooter and colorful circus costumes, you won't be disappointed with the experience you get from visiting this great museum. At only ten bucks for adults (kids free) the price is right too in these economic hard times.

This is a little gem of a museum for anyone that has memories of either traveling circuses, carnivals, or old fashioned amusement parks. Their collection of memorabilia is actually pretty extraordinary for an attraction off of the beaten path.
The museum is in Riverview which sits next to Gibsonton, a town with a heritage of attracting carnies to the area. Many retired carnies live there and many working carnies migrate there to regroup during the winter. Many of the items were donated by the carnies and amusement community.
The museum is well organized and covers a wide range of displays with supporting information. The balance of artifacts and historical perspective is very well done.
For $10 each for 3 adults this was a bargain for a unique place.

So I planned this as a surprise family activity. My kids & hubby will tell you when we first pulled up they were not impressed. That changed quickly once we got it. First of all, you could go through this place a dozen times and on the 13th visit see something new you didnt notice before. Its full of not just amazing historical info but some really fascinating artifacts. the people who work there were so full of incredible personal stories and beyond friendly. My hard to impress teens had a great time. Its a perfect day trip to bring the family, and out of town visitors that wont kill your wallet. We plan on returning when the cousins visit us next year.

My favorite part of the visit were the stories from Doc Rivera's guided tour. The man is a gold mine of cultural history. He told about many aspects of life in the 1900's and how they affected the circus. So interesting! But even if you don't listen to the tour, the place is a treat for the eyes.

I have many childhood memories of the traveling carnivals and county fairs and this museum provided a wonderful trip down memory lane. We felt very welcome, it was a very friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed seeing all the carnival exhibits and revisiting many happy times. There things of interest to a wide age range. Our little one was disappointed that he could not get on any of the displays, so might not be the best visit for small children. It took about an hour for our group, but I could have stayed longer. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. It's air conditioned so a great thing to do on a hot summer day.

Very different. It’s like opening a time capsule full of old stuff and looking around. That’s my thing so I loved it. $10 to get in was well worth it. Someday it will be no more. Bless those who keep this memory going. It’s definitely part of out entertainment past.

We are blessed that my husband’s friends are members of the International Showmen’s, thus providing us an opportunity of invitation to many activities. We met great people, always had a lot of fun at each function we attended and always look forward to attending again.
We also enjoy attending yearly Gibtown Bike Week since 2010 in Gibsonton, Florida recognized as “Florida’s Most Entertaining Bike Event”
