Unique! Closest to a tiger I've ever been!

This is a must see place. They are open on Sat and Sun from 11-4. I think you can call to arrange a visit during the week if you have a large group. A resue place for wild animals and it is amazing. A lot of tigers, several lions and some bears along with all kinds of other wildlife. Very... More

Stopped in the Sanctuary on a visit to Punta Gorda. It was close by where we were staying and easy to get to. It's fun to see some wildlife that you night not ever get close to. It's too bad they were injured and can't survive in nature but they looked to be well cared for.

I am usually not at a loss on where to start a review....I think it is safe to say that "humbled" is the best word to describe how both my husband and I felt after our visit to the Octagon. One of the signs posted at the entrance described the work of the volunteers here most eloquently..."this is a nursing... More

This sanctuary does a lot of good, but is a sad commentary on people's abuse of exotic animals, which the sanctuary has rescued. Everyone should go see this and give a huuuuggggge contribution to help these poor animals.

There is a large variety of different animals from exotic animals to more domestic animals, but 13 tigers were present when we were there, including 2 six month old sisters who had just been taken into the facility. The animals receive veterinary care and lifelong care by the big-hearted volunteers. The facility is open on the weekends and only by... More

We came across this Centre on the website and decided to reserve a spot to come for a visit. There is a small donation requested for each visitor to help offset the costs of the food. Most of the work done are performed by volunteers (there are signs up asking for volunteers!!) The caged animals seem very content and well... More

What a wonderful place that takes care of animals. These animals get a second chance here. We absolutely loved it, you can see the animals very close. It's very laid back, you can take a picnic lunch and eat by the lions and tigers and bears! Highly recommended!

There are many tigers, bears. The lions were under veterinarian care. Many birds. A fox, some monkeys. We were disappointed with the clutter, which may be what they consider decoration. They are volunteers who work and we were appreciative of they're time.

Wasn't sure what to expect. Totally amazed that there were so many large wild animals. We thought maybe a couple of bears and a couple of tigers. What a huge collection of both! The grounds were well organized and fairly well maintained. Animals appeared to be well taken care of. There was no animal smell. This sanctuary exists on their... More

What an extraordinary place hidden off a back road. Lions, tigers and bears (oh my) all of which have been rescued from abusive situations. Oh, yes, they also have apes, birds, ducks and a donkey. This is a bare bones operation, with no pretense of anything other than caring for the animals and plants on the property. The caretakers can... More
