We visited there hoping to spend a few hours walking the boatdwalk, taking photos of wildlife and catching a few boats coming and going. As we walked from the parking lot to the end of the walk way, it only took us 10 miniutes. We were very disappointed

VETERANS PARK is a great place to go to relax. Beautiful area to walk and enjoy. Be sure to walk out to the piers on the North Fork of the St Lucie River for it is a great place to fish or to just sit and watch the river and the boats.

The only thing missing is a playground for children. Other than that, this park has 4 large shelters/pavilions with barbecue grills, 3 boat/canoe launches, ample parking for cars and trailers, and best of all a long boardwalk thru a wooded natural area and then along the river. There's also a Pearl Harbor Memorial near the main entrance. Nearby are a couple restaurants, a Publix grocery, and other conveniences.

You can catch a mixed bag here, The river is brackish and filled full of snook. This is a very clean, quiet, well managed little park. It has several walking paths and a boat dock. Picnic tables under a shaded area and really good parking. It`s definitely a nice little oasis in a busy little area.

We found this walk to be very impactful and reflective, as we viewed several memorial monuments honoring our military branches, and individuals who have served our country through many conflicts, from the Revolutionary War to current events. It is free. It is handicapped accessible. It is worth a visit.

Awesome park. Observe the 5 branches of the military, a monument to Florida’s Vietnam vets and so much more.
Walked along the boardwalk and enjoyed talking some people fishing, walkers and boaters.
The only thing that ruined it, was that a dog owner didn’t pick up their dogs poop on the boardwalk. Ugh!

This is a great spot to spend a little time walking by the river and looking at wildlife. It is wheelchair accessible and is a great spot to bring those who need even footing paths. It's not for someone who really wants to get out in nature as it is near the main car bridge and the trails aren't very long but perfect for kids, older adults, or for a quick visit with nature. Also has boat ramp access, bathrooms, and a water fountain. We have seen lots of birds, raccoons, and otters here in my visits over the years. Walk quietly and keep your eyes peeled.

Currently you can fish off the pier or have a BBQ at any of the covered picnic areas. You need to bring charcoal briquets. There are bathroom facilities here as well as an IN OUT drop off for boats. There is also a walk way with signage that points out different fauna and plants along with areas to watch for otters and manatees at various times of the year. Of course there are rabbits, squirrels, racoons and the occasional fox. You may even see several species of birds if you look very carefully. You can watch the boats as they motor up and down the St. Lucie River. Eventually the City of Port St Lucie wants to have a walk way that goes under the Port St Lucie Blvd bridge and comes up into the Botanical Gardens which is just South of Veterans Park at Rivergate. In fact the city has just moved 2 homes over to the Botanical Gardens so that they make some additions to that park. If Barbeques are not your thing but you like to have a nice walk on the boardwalk and desire more substantial food there is just across the water a restaurant or two where you can order up some food in a hurry. You can leave your vehicle parked where it is, jump on the sidewalk and walk over in less than 2 minutes. Good for couples, families, friends etc.

Nice place to launch your boat. There’s also fishing off the boardwalk. The bathrooms are clean. And it’s easy access and handicapped accessible
