Make sure to have plenty of time when here. We walked a long time looking at everything. So informative and everyone on base was so nice and friendly. I was crazy being stopped and questioned before going on base but it was awesome. Can't wait to visit again this year.

We started our visit to the museum around 12:30pm and did not get to finish. We will have to go back. We read every description and play in all the planes that you can sit in. This place has the history of planes from the beginning to present. Plus a space section and many little extras. The kids we saw... More

We have been to the National Naval Aviation Museum twice now, and I think if we go several more times we'll still see something different. I retired from the Navy and spent a lot of time controlling aircraft, so for me it especially interesting. But for anyone, past Navy or not, this is an amazing museum. The curators have taken... First of all, the experience is free! It is jam packed with information about WWI, WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. We were there about 3 hours and didn't see everything. I want to go back. There are airplanes, choppers, the space shuttle beautifully restored, on the floor of the exhibit and hanging above you. We took the... More

We traveled from out of state and planned to spend the day, including lunch at this renowned museum. As we exited our car in the parking area, an airman in a jeep informed us we could take ONLY a photo ID and the pink slip we received at the front gate into the museum-no purses, pouches, wallets, etc. We obliged.... So well presented, seems like an extension of he Smithsonian air exhibits. Large facilities chock full of planes from the beginning of aviation to the space age. FREE. Great for all ages. You could spend days here and only scratch the surface of information available.

Three to four hours of a lot of standing and walking. The displays were very informative. Senior citizens would be interested in this if these planes were used in their lifetime. A lot of history in the place.

The National Naval Aviation Museum on Naval Air Station Pensacola is easily accessible by entering the back gate off of Blue Angel Parkway and Gulf Beach Highway. You simply stop at the entrance gate and tell the gate guard you want to visit the museum, and they'll give you a pass to put on your dashboard. The museum is a... More

Sooooo much here to see. Something for most everyone to look at from ww1 to space exploration. The size difference between the mercury and Apollo space capsules are startling. I saw a mercury capsule at the museum in Hamilton, OH a few years ago and was shocked at how little that thing was. Even the Apollo capsule was small for... More

I had visited this museum as a kid, and I brought my children and boyfriend along for a nostalgic journey. We had an amazing time and learned so much! I recommend this as a MUST stop!
