The Best View in Town!

Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Built in 1859, the lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola. The top of the tower offers stunning views of Pensacola Pass (where Pensacola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico), three forts, the Pensacola skyline and the historic Navy Yard. The fully restored Keepers' Quarters, built in 1869, is home to a museum and a gift shop.

Visit this historic spot in America's First Settlement, established in 1559. Make a day of it and visit the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancas while you're here. Our nature walk takes you to the white sands of beautiful quiet-water beach–a perfect beach for kids. Bring the family and a picnic lunch and stay a while. The Pensacola Lighthouse and museum is open 7 days/week. Special tours include Blue Angel practices, Light of the Moon and Ghost Hunts. Private tour and function times available as well.

Me and my husband were in town for the weekend and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Prices are very reasonable and love the view from the top of the lighthouse. Very well worth the money and love learning new things about the history of the lighthouse. Will be back soon.

We just looked around in the museum and the giftshop. The lighthouse was being painted so we werent able to go up in it. Was only charged half price for museum and the lady in the gift shop was very nice and the gentleman in the museum was entertaining. If you like the history of lighthouses and the ships then... My legs were sore from the climb and it is not for the faint of heart, but well worth the climb for the view. I love the 'order one' Fresnel lens in the lighthouse. It is still a working lighthouse. The museum is small, but has some interesting information. There are three floors of rooms with exhibits. There is also... More

I love lighthouses, so when I found out there was a lighthouse on NAS Pensacola, we had to go!! Walking up and down the spiral staircase is not for the feint of heart!! The spiral staircase has narrow stairs that you need to just take your time to get up and down. If you're not in decent shape, or have... More

This is an excellent attraction that you do not want to miss! This beautifully maintained facility is well marked and displayed. You will want to go through everything on site! Climbing to the top of the lighthouse is an adventure in itself. It is a steep climb to the top. If heights bother you, or if you aren't physically fit,... More

This is a beautiful lighthouse, but I have to admit, I made it up those stairs by sheer stubbornness. Those steep stairs are not for people with a fear of heights. When I had to let go of the rail for people coming down I thought I would faint. It is worth it though! The view is amazing! I have... More

We stopped to see the lighthouse again. I been there several times before. It gets better with each trip. Great history point of interest.

The lighthouse here at Pensacola was beautiful. We managed to climb to the top and what a view! The Blue Angels are stationed at the base there and we got to see them fly nearby! Awesome views! Go on a clear day to enjoy the views!

This little side trip would have been great, had I not injured my back and was thus unable to climb the 177 or so steps, but the museum was a bigger disappointment. Not much to see there, but still well worth the stop for more able bodied. Be sure you ask for any applicable discounts! Clerk in souvenir shop was... More
