The Best View in Town! Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Built in 1859, the lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola. The top of the tower offers stunning views of Pensacola Pass (where Pensacola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico), three forts, the Pensacola skyline and the historic Navy Yard. The fully restored Keepers' Quarters, built in 1869, is home to a museum and a gift shop. Visit this historic spot in America's First Settlement, established in 1559. Make a day of it and visit the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancas while you're here. Our nature walk takes you to the white sands of beautiful quiet-water beach–a perfect beach for kids. Bring the family and a picnic lunch and stay a while. The Pensacola Lighthouse and museum is open 7 days/week. Special tours include Blue Angel practices, Light of the Moon and Ghost Hunts. Private tour and function times available as well.

On the Naval Airport base, you need to follow Navy procedures to enter. But, if you get to the right gate, in you go. And if you get to the wrong gate, a smiling correction will fix that. The lighthouse has a nice museum I....More

Beautiful, idyllic setting with a great history. The spectacular view was worth the 177 steps to the top. The gentleman at the top of the lighthouse was full of great information! It is only a quarter mile from the NAS Museum and worth the trip.

I love lighthouses and really liked this one. It's a long climb but well worth it. Staff were at the bottom and top and were very informative and helpful. Great views and a small section about women and lighthouses.

Well preserved lighthouse and grounds. Keepers house is the museum. Walking to the top of the lighthouse affords great views. Worth a stop if you are nearby.

Unfortunately children cannot be carried up; it's a Coast Guard regulation and a safety issue. Like you stated, what most guests do is take turns climbing; one or more in your party stays with the child/children while the... More
