We stayed in the Fort Pickens Campground - it was incredibly beautiful, very flexible hours, nice staff, showers and bathroom amenities were nice. Campsite was nice - we got A34 which is a tent site with hookups - but the highlight is definitely the location. It is a less than one minute walk to the beach - most pristine beautiful... More

Head East on Hwy 399 past the Pensacola Beach beach ball water tower for about 5 miles and go through the gates to heaven. Between Portofino Island Resort and Navarre Beach you have approximately 12 miles of a two lane road nestled between two bodies of water (the Gulf of Mexico and the Pensacola Sound). You might feel like you... More

Obvious I am partial however, We have the most beautiful beaches in the world, and I have see a lot of this old world. As with most Salt water seas be careful and alway read the warning signs before swimming and swim where lifeguards are present! Believe me when I tell you that the salt water of the Gulf of... More

This is a stretch of road without any restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, or any commercialized commerce. This stretch of the road is about a few miles to the east of the Portofino Resort, and extends all the way to Navarre Beach. Along the way, you'll find a road that has been washed out, and rebuilt in various places, plus... More

You will be amazed by the area and the colors of the sands and the waters. White sands and emerald waters.

Having a few moments to relax, we opted to stop and take in the vista. Here, the water view and beach life are well into their winter fest. One can readily stroll along the beaches, walk with a metal detector or simply relax, with or without one's pole. In any event or style, this place has it all.

Went there for the day to sight see and hike. The fort was very interesting and the beaches just beautiful. The park itself is spread out from Mississippi to Florida. In one part of it west of Pensacola you can drive out along narrow strip of sand and you are surrounded by the Gulf. Wonderful!

This a a stretch of beach that is uninhabited. The views and the beach are stunning! It was like we were the only ones who had ever stepped foot on the beach.

We visit Gulf Islands several times a year, and when we go to the beach, we head directly towards Fort Pickens. We bought an annual pass, and if you go 3 times in a year, you've more than paid for it. Our favorite snorkeling spot is at Fort Pickens on the sound side, but there is so much to love... More
