Almost didn't go there. But.. wife insisted. Glad she did. The drive from Pensacola Beach is stunning! Remote, peaceful, beautifully desolate and water (bay / gulf) on both sides of the road. It costs $20.00 for a weekly pass. That's the cheapest. They offer camping...More

Go out to Langdon Beach (just before Fort Pickens). No condos, no tacky bars, just a lovely pavilion with tables, restrooms (life guards in season) and miles of sugar sand beach.

The national seashore is a jewel that everyone should take time to visit. To go from the high rises to the pristine beaches and natural area is a wonderful thing. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The color of the water at the Opal Beach...More

The great thing about the beaches that make up the Gulf Island National Seashore is that you can be alone on the beach or in a crowd depending on where you go. Johnson Beach is great, offers gulf side and bay side close together. The...More

If you like true Florida Beach experiences this is the place to come. Miles of white clean sand, emerald waters, and peace and quiet. An entirely different crowd than the more crowded Casino Beach and a whole different world than the mayhem that is Destin.

We will drive to Navarre at least a couple of times during our stay. The drive is absolutely breathtaking with white sand and blue waters. We often take our chairs and books and enjoy the good life on quiet, often deserted beaches.
