If you like water and kayaking or canoeing you should rent a canoe and go for it. River is not wild at all so can have nice weekend with family and kids.

Really, really a nice park. Safe, secluded and quiet. Nice hiking and bicycle trails. Off the beaten path. Get groceries long before the park as there is no grocery shopping for miles. Fellow campers were friendly and the campsites are well cared for. We enjoyed out visit.

I go kayaking down Blackwater River about 1-2 times a year. It's a great family activity or fun for a spontaneous date.

Two of three roads in and out of the park were flooded and closed, hiking trails and walkway to the river was flooded. Our site was large, away from other sites, and surface was all pea sized stone, no sand or mud to... More

We canoe this river every few years and it's always been a joy. The solitude and gentle river flow make it an easy trip for the novice.

Love black water. It's quiet and tubing on it is awesome. Highlights of my summers. Look forward to black water every year. Used to go camp out there with the horses. So much fun
