Ultra crowded.
No COVID precautions.
Skates are totally dull/not sharp making it extremely difficult and even dangerous to skate as they slide sideways. I asked for a different pair and the employee said they are all the same and when I explained she shrugged her shoulders.
However their employees have good skates and can go full speed doing tricks etc while we are trying to figure out how to stay straight.
The rink is good size. If you are planning to come it’s better to bring your own skates. The ones provided are trash.
If you don’t have skates better go somewhere else.

My wife and I live in Port Saint Lucie and occassionally skate at Panthers Ice Den, but seeing as it was closed to the public this particular weekend, we decided to try Pines...bad decision. We do not own skates so we must rent. $4 skate rental was totally normal, as was the $8 admission for 2 hours of skate time. We did notice No Refund signs as we entered, but had no hesitations. Our rental skates were extremely cheap, hard plastic with two ratchet type buckles that cause the material to dig into your feet at a few points...extremely uncomfortable. My first two steps on the ice nearly ended in a brisk fall as the skates have no edge whatsoever. You cannot push off at all and all you can manage is the dreaded walk-shuffle you equate with someones' first time ice skating. I turned around immediately as my wife had the same problem. A look across the ice and everyone was suffering the same fate. You could also see that the ice dipped down at the boards- a sign it is poorly maintained. When we went back to exchange the skates I told the girl the skates had no edge and I would like another pair. She kind of smiled and said they are all like that and if you are serious about skating you need to get your own skates. I asked why they don't sharpen the skates and was told because it cost too much money and the owners wont pay for it(even though you can have your skates sharpened there at the pro shop). The employee was very nice and honest so it became clear that we had just wasted our time and money. Heading back to the front office, we were met with no refund signs as the office staff sat behind glass with no way to contact them other than to go back outside and come in. It was obvious to us that they know they offer a sub-standard product and prey upon those that dont know any better. I knew it wasn't worth the time arguing for my money back, so we left 15 minutes after we arrived(minus $24) and decided we would write this review to warn others. I feel bad for anyone whose first time ice skating was there because I guarantee they will never want to try again. Bottom line-Don't waste your time going here unless you own your own skates and don't mind poorly maintained ice.

Just register my both kids for ice skating lessons.
My boy ( 6 ) had some classes in the past. And my little girl ( 4 ) just started.
Love the coaches. Kids loved being there.
I totally recommend it.

what's the point of having all those employees on the ice if little ones are allowed to go in wrong direction, cross-cross through traffic and hold hands 5 across?

Ice skating rink in great shape....lockers, skate rentals are good. You do want to avoid it on Saturday nights as it is packed with teenaged kids.

This place is well worth the money. It is a large arena with open skating, even crowded, it did not feel cramp. We stayed for two sessions and had a wonderful time. It is cold inside (no matter the temperature outside) so make sure to bring a jacket.

Pines Ice Arena is our local ice rink as it is closest to our home. We attend public skating sessions as a family and usually enjoy ourselves. The skate rental is a crap shoot (sometimes the skates are shoddy or not sharp enough) and the ice is not in the best shape, but people on the ice are friendly and respectful and the sessions are long.
