Nice beach with dunes however not many shells. The ride over in an island and dolphin shuttle was much more fun. Feeding the gulls on the way there and seeing the dolphins swim around and under the boat on the way back. Even saw some...More

This was one of the most beautiful places we visited while on our trip in Panama. The kids found tons of different shells, the water is crystal clear, it is just absolutely breath taking in this area. We did see a shark swimming by the...More

Shell Island offers a remote beach option. You can get there by private boat or jetskis or by taking a shuttle from St. Andrews State Park or one of the local marinas. Despite the name, shells are not found in abundance except after the occasional...More

Shell Island does not have a lot of shells. One side of the island is on the ocean and the other side is on the bay. The ocean side is much prettier with more sand. The bay side water is not very pretty but the...More

If you’re going to visit Shell Island, tent the pontoon boat. It is worth every penny. We packed a cooler with snacks and our snorkeling gear. The kids could jump off the boat and slide down the two slides into the ocean. Dolphins swam beside...More

There are a number of commercial ferry services to the island including from the Sheraton Bay Point including hired pontoon boats. There are no facilities on the island but it has a nice beach. Parts of the beach can be a little busy but you...More

Took a double decker pontoon to shell island beach area and anchored. We spent several hours snorkeling having fun but not very big shells out there anymore. We made best of it even though a 6' shark had been spotted out near middle in little...More

I think we paid $15. We enjoy Shell Island. We pack a picnic and take drinks. It's just so pretty, relaxing and not commercialized.
