- TofurryRenton, Washington1,066 contributionsCute little show little ones would loveWe did not know what to expect with this as we had never watched it before. It is a 4D experience with lots of characters (Donald Duck is the lead) and familiar songs. The 3D effect is very good and you will see a lot of kids and adults trying to touch whatever is coming out of the screen. A good show to watch when it is hot outside. Relax and enjoy the A/C.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 September 2023
- L18SUMStirling, United Kingdom2,055 contributionsDon't miss this! Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited Disney World for two weeks holiday in October. This show was a fantastic surprise for me and my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We came back three times to watch it and enjoyed it every time. It takes you through some of the best loved Disney films (though missed out many too). My favourite part is when Donald ends up with the Little Mermaid - that's so much fun. Enjoy!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 November 2023

This is such a good show! 80s and 90s kids will really enjoy it, as it features music and cameos from all of our favorite Disney movies from our childhood. It's a 3D show with tons of fun effects. Very cute/fun, not scary at all. I consider this a must do show. Get out of the heat for awhile and go do this one.

Amazing! My wife and I for years have always started out our trip by visiting here first! You are immersed in so many of the best franchises!
Our critique would be that it would be wonderful to have it be more like Star Tours where there were different outcomes. It would be great to get some Tangled or Princess and the Frog or Frozen scenes integrated into all of these. We love the show and are glad it’s around for our children to also fall in love with!

This wasn't at the top of our list, it was something to do until our next Fast Pass kicked in, plus it was starting to rain. But it was a good thing to experience. Basically it's a 3D movie in a very large theatre. The 4D part comes in when you get misted with water or blown with air. The movie has songs from great Disney films like the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and maybe some others I forgot. We waited about 35 minutes from entering the line to being seated. The experience itself lasted 10-15 minutes. There is a Fast Pass available for this attraction, but I don't know if I'd waste it on something with a relatively short wait time (a half hour wait is considered good here!). One tip: if you like sitting in the center of the row, don't be among the first in. They make you fill in the rows completely, so whoever is first in has to go to the farthest end. You might want to stand off to the side until you see a row that's close to half-filled.

I'm a sucker for 4D and wanted something while I was waiting between Fast Pass big rides. I hate seeing things like this that wind up being 45 minute waits to see 3 minute movies, but this was more than a movie and was much longer. I think it may have been 15 or 20 minutes and a good, entertaining respite from the heat. Grandkids loved it (3 and 8 years old) and our adults did, too. It was really scenes from several Disney animation classics with Donald Duck incorporated into them to weave this into a narrative. The fun thing is the good use of 3D as well as the special effects that constitute the 4th dimensions, with the puffs of air, swirls of air, and the squirts of water at appropriate times. I really enjoyed it enough by myself (at 58 I wore out the adult kids and grandkids, so while they went back to the hotel to nap before returning I saw this and liked it) and brought the family back to see this and all enjoyed.

A truly unique experience at Disney that is only, partially, attempted at one other ride we went to (Stitch's Escape). When you first enter the PhilharMagic you are ushered into a large blue hallway adorned with pictures of Disney characters and, I believe, future billings of fictitious plays. You pass by the same kind of three dimensional yellow goggles you'd use at an IMAX or 3D movie (grab a pair) before stopping outside the 'Automagic' sliding doors. Once your story is set to begin, Goofy and Mickey's voices come out over the PA system letting you know the time till movie and when you can enter.
Once inside it is stadium seating, so the closer you are to the middle the better, but it is not mandatory to get a good view. There are sound effects of Goofy and Mickey trying to organize the orchestra while finding a Donald duck who has gone missing. As the sound moves across the room (in brilliantly done DTS surround sound) to the stage, the lights go down, the curtains come up and the show begins.
The visuals and music themselves are stunning, but what really blew us away was the additional sensations that were included. When the mop scene comes up and the screen is splashed by water, sprinklers shower you with small amounts of water. When Donald is sucked into a tornado, powerful fans blow down on you to simulated the weather effect. Some smells are subtly introduced as well that give you the impression that the ride was designed around your other senses far more than simply your eyes.
The lines were not overly long at any time of day, and it was worth every minute of the show. The way it ends is pretty awesome too, just remember to turn away from the screen and look to the back of the theater once Donald goes off the picture.

We love this so much. Not only is it a sit down in a cool room and a break when it’s busy but the show features songs from all the classic Disney movies plus Donald Duck! What more could you ask for.
