I first visited i drive in 2006 and we stayed in a hotel on the drive. It was a fabulous place for family. Plenty of places to see, eat, play etc when I visited and stayed again in 2017 I could see it had changed. We went again in 2023 and its not as nice. Some Shops closed and we didn't stay there because disney onside is better. But there are still things to do but it's just not the same. This year we are staying in universal onsite which is basically right by I drive,so will see what it's like in 2024

Served by Bracus who could not have been more attentive and informative. Food and atmosphere are absolutely spot on, great place, can't wait to go back.

Sad to see how I Drive has apparently gone into decline.
The north end up by Endless Summer resort is practically dead on its legs.
This area looks run down and it doesn’t really improve until you go south to the icon park area.

As much as I love International Drive, it has started to become overcrowded and just way too busy for its own good. With the expansions of The Pointe and Icon Park, the rest of the Drive is becoming desperate and tatty with a lot of the restaurants completely empty and cutting back their menus. North of Sand Lake is very cheap and tacky so we prefer to be south of their. Stayed at Rosen Pointe which is fine.

International Drive Orlando is an avenue with every hotel chain represented, of all cost ranges. It is clean, homeless and graffiti free, safe. There is a shuttle which runs the entire length which is $2 a day for unlimited rides and you can find the maps at most hotels and venues in Orlando.
The shuttles interact with busses to Disney World, etc and are a good way to get around. There are stops at the Orange County Convention Center if that is your destination.

International Drive has attractions, all levels of food service, shopping, and lodging.

Internacional Drive is a very long street full of hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment. The last time we chose Lake Buena Vista, and although as a shopping & dining area Disney Springs is bigger and for us nicer, there is plenty more to visit on the International Drive

I first visited the International Drive area in 1997/98 and sornt some time here during our recent holiday.

I think its fair to say that while there has been a lot of development in Orlando, parts of International Drive are in need of refresh.

There is still plenty of shops, restaurants and bars along the strip however the older part has gone quite old and dated. That said, the newer part down towards Pointe Orlando, Wonderworks etc is quite high end with a huge array of shops, restaurants and activities for all to enjoy.

It wouldnt be a visit to Orlando without a drive down International.
