About
At a temperature of 87 degrees, Warm Mineral Springs contains 9 million gallons of fresh water which replenishes itself every two hours. This natural resource is comprised of 51 minerals, which is the highest mineral content of any natural spring in the United States. The spring has been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places partly because it is one of the most important underwater archeological sites in America. During exploratory dives in the 1950s, the remains of a prehistoric hunter and seven other humans were discovered in a very well preserved state. Similarly, evidence of several creatures have been extracted from the spring, including saber tooth tigers, giant sloths, tortoises, and even camels. Today, with a goal of increased wellness for everyone, Warm Mineral Springs offers a natural experience to residents and visitors alike who want to soak in the warm waters.

- Paul S6 contributionsRelaxing family atmosphere, healthy experience in nature and wonderful peopleFantastic in three ways: 1) the springs itself and the ambience of it. It is positively Fellini-esque with the old folks in their wide brimmed straw hats doing a slow cakewalk around the inner part of the spring chatting among themselves like time does not exist; 2) the yoga and limbering classes under the oak trees by East European ladies who know their stuff, good experience; and 3) the great food in the canteen: borsht and pierogi and real bread. GREAT!Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 December 2023
- tragaller2012Sioux City, Iowa317 contributionsCool Spot With Warm Water!First off if your visiting with a family be prepared, it was 20/person. Not sure kids rates. But saw a family of 6 turn around and walk away, so may be spending a small fortune. The water is warm. Not hot, but warm and very clear. They take good care of it. Wasn't too sulfery smelling. Very clean for swimming. Sand and pebble bottom. There is not a beach, just areas to get I to the water. Most landings on the edge of the water are mud landings. There was not a concession stand, but there was a food truck. Did not check it any further than seeing it there. Maybe bring your own snacks. There were hundreds of lawn chairs and a few dozens loungers around the edges like there about to be a Foriegner concert on the water. Looked see. Buildings on the grounds looked old and damaged from storms. They are all closed off. Bathrooms and dressings rooms are ok, clean enough. Overall, I'd say cool spot to visit and see.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2024
- ScenicSightsWauwatosa, Wisconsin770 contributionsAn okay experienceThe water is supposedly 82 degrees at this time of the year. IThe weather was about 78 degrees and sunny, but I was still cool. If you like hot springs, you may find this a shock to your system. There are lots of chairs and it wasn't crowded when I went. There is some gunk in the water which may be off-putting. Two lifeguards were on duty. I'm not sure about the impact on my skin yet. I haven't really felt a difference yet.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 23 January 2024
- linda k4 contributionsUnity and Community Cocoon deliversOMG!! I love this studio I feel so at home. The teachers are marvelous and all deserving of shout out starting with Marley. An amazing teacher and founder of Cocoon. She delivers direct and concise yoga cues sprinkled with dharma like poetry keeping all students engaged in the practice. The studio is warm and inviting and the community is filled with like minded humans that are equally as warm as the environment. Marley tends to ends the practice with "unity and community "and that is so true of this space. If you want to be among friendly humans and exceptional teachers this studio is for you!!!!!!!! A shout out to Meghan, Daniel, Liv, Terri, Tammy, Cole, Bri, Tatiana, Autumn and still others that I am on my way to experiencing their class, Shuana and Shelby. You never feel that you need to experience one teacher's class exclusively but rather enjoy the diversity of all classes with different teachers!!! Come experience the joy of yoga!!!!!Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 18 March 2024

As much as I wanted to like this place, I couldn't. We decided to drive down here (about 2+ hours) after reading about it in the Tampa Bay Times. There was a very flattering column that really sold us on it. So we made the drive on a Saturday. We arrived about 2 hours before closing, so around 3:00 p.m. We paid for our tickets and, literally, about 10 seconds later, they announced they were closing. It was comical. While they have a "no refunds" policy sign up, they grudgingly agreed to refund us the $20 admission fee. After that, the entire thing decomposed into a circus. Since we had driven more than 2 hours just to see this place, we decided to stick around to see if they would re-open. They were unable to give us a clear answer. Instead, they told us about some arbitrary rule that required them to close if lightning was detected within 8 miles on the Weather Bug app. Given this rule, they would be closed pretty much every summer afternoon in Central Florida. How bizarre! I understand the need for safety and I'm sure that's the response I'll get for this post: "the safety of our guests is of the utmost importance, blah, blah, blah." But the reality was that they kicked about 100+ people out for no good reason. The so called "life guard" walked around the water and repeatedly screamed at people to leave the premises. We talked to a regular there who said this happens all the time. They take your money, they fill up and they shut down and kick people out. He said it's because the staff wants to go home early. I'm not sure what to believe but it was one giant disappointment. Regardless, we never got to go! Also, the premises are dilapidated and in bad need of repair. The concessions are expensive and some of the staff are nice but some are rude. But if you want to charge $20 admission a head, you need to deliver a better customer experience. We're Floridians and travel all over the state but this place is a giant DUD. All we got from the so called "Fountain of Youth" was more grey hair and extra frown lines. Proceed at your own risk. And get there early maybe! They close at 5.

The place itself is great. Can't complain about that. But the customer service is seriously lacking. We paid for a membership when we visited North Port, specifically to go to these springs. However, due to Tropical Storm Elsa, the facility closed the whole place down and did not permit anyone to swim. It was closed for essentially all of the time during the week we went, making the membership a complete waste of money.
We kindly requested a refund for the unused days of the membership, courteously offering them to deduct for the days that we actually used. They told us that they don't control the weather, so they will not refunding us.
That was a despicable, and frankly incorrect response to customers kindly offering a refund for a service that they DID NOT receive. They don't control the weather, and we're not saying that they should or do, and don't blame them for that, but to not offer a refund is just outrageous.
Hopefully when you go, you won't have to deal with those robots in charge of the place.

I really enjoy coming to the mineral spring park for the health benefits. Unfortunately the customer service, in regards to grievance resolution, is very poor at this place. Recently I lost my prepaid admission tracking card. It just so happened that I took a photo of it, and even though I showed the photo evidence to the staff they’ve still denied my request to replace my lost card. I’ve been told that I will need to pay for a new card (despite the fact that I still had unused prepaid admission days on my lost card: 6 days used out of 30) – this is completely unfair and unreasonable. I’ve had multiple conversations about this situation with the staff and management and there’s been no budging. I’d also like to share about a situation with my friends from out-of-state who came to the park one day. They had just paid for a full day admission and were about to get into the spring water when they were ushered out of the park due to rain and thunder. The park was closed for the day. The unfortunate situation was in that they didn’t even get to enjoy the day and were denied to redeem their paid-for admission on different day, despite the fact that they asked multiple times. So to any customer – I just wanted to caution you to beware regarding any prepaid admission concerns that you may run into with this place. Don’t expect to get your money back or your unused admission days. All your objections and complaints will go on death ears.

The springs are lovely but the staff is belligerent, uncaring and downright rude. Honestly, they will just shut down the springs for an entire day because they want a day off. They couldn't care less that there are people who travel to come here, whose health depends on this place and for whom coming here is an utter necessity. I've been going to the springs for nearly 15 years and have witnessed and experienced its decline. It's bad enough the bathrooms and changing rooms have been closed for a year but they keep piling on more rules and think nothing of outright screaming at people. Today was crucial for me to be in the springs but of course they closed. No rain, no lightning within 150 miles but it is Saturday and I'm sure they all determined how nice it would be to not have to work on Saturday. All they ever say is "we can't control the weather" but what has become obvious is how much joy they take in being mean, disrespectful and in a position of power to those of us who need this place. It was not always this way but it has been on a steady decline throughout the years I've been coming. This place is special and it was in much better hands when Sarasota county was in charge. So very very sad.

My husband and I live in St. Pete, so we took a day trip here. It was packed, the water was Luke-warm (late Dec) and we decided that this was our dues paid for moving to the wonderful state of FL. The water was gross, the bottom was rocky and slimy, and it cost $20 a head to get in. I asked a lady what the attraction was, and she said, “it’s Florida”. We do love FL, in all its quirkiness, but we won’t go again.

I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with this visit. I brought my own towel and floating device. Also make sure you wear a hat and sunscreen. We ended up floating in the water for 3 hours and felt so relaxed afterwards. I dont know why but apparently this is a common think after being in this mineral rich water. The provide chairs and lounge chairs. Apparently this pond's water is totally refreshed every 2 hours with the water flowing into the creak. They offer a $5 discount to locals so the ticket price is $15/ adult. Since the city took it over, they decided to build new buildings in the near future. I will definitely be back.

We arrived here from Ft. Myers at 10:00 and was closed. Supposed to be open at 9:00. A phone number was posted for info. My wife called and a bitter voice answered and told that may be open at 11:00 , but not sure, that’s just the plan. Any other explanation.
Last year it happened the same, we arrived here and they opened around noon. After 35 minutes they forced the people to exit the pool and leave the premises for storm reason. It was no storm, just a cloudy sky. The guards threatened the people to exit urgently the pool and leave. They did not refund the tickets cost . They were rude, even did not apologize. We left after 35 min we paid the tickets .
Today we left before they may been opening. They are not trustful and not serious . We’ll never return .

So I had a 1pm massage and Holly was excellent at her job. She hit all the spots that needed extra attention and used just the right amount of pressure. I felt like a noodle when I was done. Then I took my noodle to the springs for a float. Mind you I felts like a stranger in America bc so many people from around the world come here. I was relaxed by the end of the day. Glad I got here before the renovation were completed so I can appreciate the before and after.

I stayed but my wife with her sister and niece went to the Mineral springs.
The good:
Warm water, heated by an under ground thermal. The aroma of many different minerals, including a strong sulfur smell. If anyone has ever been out to Yellow Stone you will know that all of the hot springs smell like sulfur. The only reason I mention this is that some people have very sensitive sinus's.
The Bad:
The stones around the edge of the Spring are covered with algae so they are slippery when entering the water.
The Ugly: Not really ugly but for people who aren't familiar with customs of other countries well don't act too surprised when you see an older man, perhaps a tad over weight; wearing a pair of bikini shorts heading into the water.
I believe people like Harry S Truman used to come to these same springs back in the 1930's. But might want to fact check that one.
There are people from all over my wife heard German, Russian, French being spoken in different groups.
If you go you might want to:
Bring some pool noodles to float with.
Bring a chair, there are plenty of chairs there but the day my wife went she said there appeared to be around 300+ people in and out of the Spring.
Parking seemed to be no problem but it may depend on what time of the year you go.
The middle of the spring is so deep you can't see the bottom, it is roped off as a warning but you can swim there.

How crowded is it in March and how long can you stay in the spring, once a day or a few times per day?
Written 15 March 2020
Warm Mineral Springs is very popular place and number of visitors fluctuate around a year from approximately one hundred to five hundred in a single day, mostly it correlates with weather and temperature outside: in a rainy and cold day this number could be less than hundred but very rarely because it is warm spring - water temperature is around 80-85 F. You can stay whole day or come and go (just inform personnel when you leave because they register and stamp you before leaving).

Massage prices are on the menu at the admissions desk. You can book your massage there. Massage rooms are accessible along the outside corridor, once you've gained entrance to the park.
