Beautiful park to view dunes and ocean. Has raised walkway for easy walk to enjoy the peaceful views. Isolated from the town area so it is a calming experience in the middle of hectic vacations. Turtle homes abound and enjoyed seeing them in their natural...More

Beautiful but hot walk. You might want to wear a hat and sunscreen. It is very dry, but you can see some wildlife and the ocean breakers are awesome!

This is a beautiful walk on raised wooden walkways. Can bring a picnic. Walk to the beach and hunt for shells. See Ponce Inlet Lighthouse across the bay. Hunt for land turtles out of their holes and sunning.

Volusia County maintains this wonderful park. We have been searching for a "beach" where our dog can enjoy the water and beach! The park has two separate trails to access various parts within the park. The primary trail is an elevated boardwalk which is very...More

We stayed in New Smyrna Beach for two nights with our dog. The dog beach part of the Dunes is poor at best. Not much beach space. You walk a mile to get to your destination( we are fit, but wow!). Its like they segragate...More

We went down to the dunes park around sunset one day. It was ok. Peaceful with the long wooden walkways. Nothing to write home about but pretty nice to see if you have some time on your hands. You could see it or miss it.

What an amazing place, a real piece of Heaven. Spectacular nature and inlet. The daily pass costs 10 dollars, but I highly recommend the annual pass if you are a resident: with 20 dollars, you will be able to return to both the Dunes Park...More

Don't think you can use it. But, after 5 p.m. the park is free. If you are staying for more than 2 days and want to go with the dogs during the day. Buy the pass. You can go in and out of the park as many times during the... More

I saw that it's $10 per car to enter. Is it a day pass that you can enter and exit through the day?

My husband has to use a scooter to get around, because he has mobility issues. Is it possible to ride from the parking lot to the doggie beach on the boardwalk? Because the scooter will not go on sand, even if it is hard packed. So, I'm wondering if there is any way to get the scooter to the dog beach? Thanks for any info you can provide!

Unfortunately, the boardwalk is not continuous. There is a short stretch between the doggie beach boardwalk and the boardwalk from the parking lot that crosses the sandy foot path. A distance, I'd guess, of 25-30 feet.
