The sugar mill is great visit for early American History. It is an interesting example of the sugar trade of the time. There is plenty of room for kids to run around and a nice, short nature walk that gives you an idea of the...More

Sugar Mill Ruins are one of several examples of the importance of the sugar industry to the Florida economy. Disease, Indian attacks and weak resistance brought an end to most of the sugar plantations. At the time, the sugar industry was worth the risks.

I have been dropping by the Sugar Mill Ruins for years. Always nice to see that it is the same pleasant place for a quick stop, mostly in shade. The ruins, once thought to be Spanish, are simply of an old sugar mill (pictures). A...More

We stopped in to see the Sugar Mill Ruins after reading about this site elsewhere...and it was a lovely and interesting stop. We walked around the Mill, walked the little nature trail, and had a lovely time in the 20 minutes we were there.

Definitely worth checking out for a quick stop. We were there less than 30 minutes, enjoyed walking around the ruins and reading about them. Also a little walk in the woods was a fun and easy exploration.

Nice place! The sugar mill isn't large and it's a little hard to find but it was a pretty site! Apparently there is a trail but I didn't see it. I'd go again just to view the scenery. It's nicely preserved !

There is not much to see at this site but the rest rooms are great. We stopped at this one and the Dunlawton Sugar Mills Garden - Port Orange (a few miles north) and that one has much more to see if you are really...More

Not a lot here but the ruins are interesting. We went on a cool, sunny morning and enjoyed the place. The public bathrooms are some of the cleanest I have ever used.

Stroll through time back to another era. See what remains of days gone by. When life was of a different time. The dinosaur s throughout the park are fun and unexpected. The history here is fascinating. Kids will probably be as fascinated as the adults.
