I liked the place. I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Desaru. Comfortable stay with very nice breakfast. Visited fruit farm, Desaru beach and walk around. As an Indian i always face issue with food. Luckily got Indian vegetarian food at Lotus resort. Their restaurant Lotus spice is very good. Had a nice time at Desaru. We went there from Singapore in car. It took nearly 2 hours to drive to Desaru from JB immigration. Well spend the Chinese New Year holidays.

Beautiful Seaside - Perfect beach to unwind at desaru

Nice beach with plenty of waves and not very crowded. We spent the whole afternoon soaking under the warm sunlight.

Talk a long walk along the beach and listen to the sound of the waves.

Bring sunblock, hat, shades, plenty of water, your favorite book and enjoy the breeze.

The beach overall condition is decent and good for family and friends outings (kiting, picnic, volleyball, etc). The only downside is that the sea water is greyish.

There is a decent parking lot which charged RM5 per car. You can bring your own food for picnic, and shall clean up the space after the picnic.

The so called private beach next to Westin is well maintained and clean. Hardly see any rubbish around. Maybe cos it's a private beach. Towel counter not opened when we got there around 10am. Has to get it from the front desk.

As at end of June 2020, the public beach remains closed (since the beginning of MCO in March). Only hotel guests have access to their respective hotel beaches.

A great place for a short gateway from the city. The beach is very pretty and clean. A peaceful place to relax your mind and rest yourself.

Stayed 2 nights in 1-bedroom loft. The room is nice with Sea view. The resort is massive with loads of room for everything (to the point that you don’t see another resort guest and feels like you’re all alone in this place 🤣 - ok for us). Good weekend getaway if you don’t want go do anything at all. This time of the year the beach is uninviting even for an experienced swimmer and life guard- the current was strong and signs across the coast advising not to swim. We still tried but it disappoint. Peaceful tho on the beach and almost zero human hang around which is great if you op for that. Saw a monkey and a cat - a bonus.
Food wise, it was okay. A lot of places are halal and so alcoholic drinks are limited. There is one bar tho in the resort called ‘Beach Hut’ - you may enjoy your booze there and nowhere else in the resort.
They build a wall of sand to the beach line at the resort and so you can’t see the beach even you are at the beach. You have to go over the wall which was annoying to do as it was steep and not holiday friendly.
There is an odd smell in the air tho at the beach - strange and unpleasant.

Overall, Desaru experience is so-so. Maybe we’ll come back another time of the year if the sea is calm and able to actually enjoy it.
