About
Stretching from Nikki Beach to Indian Beach Park, the Miami Beach Boardwalk is well-maintained and lined with shops and hotels. Take a stroll along its length and rent a bike for the return journey. Remember to bring sun protection and watch out for speeding cyclists. Water fountains are available for a refreshing drink along the way.
The beach is perfect for sandcastle-building and swimming, with lifeguards on duty. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the Art Deco district, enjoy the view from a rooftop cocktail bar, or catch an arthouse film at Miami Beach Cinematheque.

There are walkers, joggers, cyclists, and roller bladers traveling across this mostly flat surface. Many beach access points along the way and it goes for miles.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 January 2023

This boardwalk is well maintained and offers a number of shops, cafes and more. It truly makes for a very nice walk amid beautiful scenery.

Beautiful walk. The water is beautiful. It is worth a visit. My teens loved it! Only complaint is often you walk through a plum of cigarette smoke (but such is life I guess).

Extremely disappointed on this visit. We have been here before and it was one of the reasons for choosing Miami Beach as a destination.
WARNING - there were so many electric bikes, scooters, etc. whizzing by that we felt unsafe walking there. Several came way too close to us for comfort, so we didn't walk there again. Just crossing from our hotel to the beach area was hazardous. The signs say "no electric vehicles" but it was clearly not being enforced.

Not what I expected a "boardwalk" to be but still a nice walk along the beach of South Beach. Water is still a little bit of walk, across sand, but still close enough to enjoy views and also very close to Collins Ave.

Nice. Watch out for cyclists, though. They are traveling entirely too fast. A good place to watch the sunrise without having to actually get in the sand.

This flat boardwalk, actually bricks and cement, runs along a large length of the Miami Beach area. It is great for walking on but is heavily used by cyclists which spoils the experience a little - some of their behaviour is quite intimidating and frightening. There seems to be little enforcement of the rules banning motorised means such as e-scooters and e-bikes. There are also anti-social users who play their own music loudly and publicly while they cycle/run/walk. But it is free, well-maintained and great for looking at the sea and hotel/apartment blocks. Sadly there are very few places to sit for a rest. A few benches would have been very welcome. Sundays, particularly mornings, are best avoided.

We saw no seaweed on March. It's not the warmest time of year, but was really clean!

Hello Miami Runners!!!
Iāll be visiting Miami while training for a marathon. Staying near 57th street at Collins Ave. How safe is to run there? Best route? How early? Any advice? I live in the Caribbean, so Iām accustomed to the heat
Thanks in advance!

Iām a marathon runner. Recently ran the Miami half marathon. I have run the Miami Beach boardwalk many many tines in past 5 years. I personally like to go out early and before the sun rises. For one itās much cooler but above all lot less people. The boardwalk tends to get busy as the day goes by. So I go out at 6am about 5/6 days a week when Iām down there.

Your best bet would be the hotels on Collins Avenue. Most of them have a back access to the beach and the boardwalk for a nice morning stroll. Also if you want to stay in a shopping area, you need to be close to Lincoln Rd. and the open air strip.
There are a few very nice hotels on Collins between 14th and 19th streets. You will have direct access to the beach and the shopping a few steps away. Enjoy it...

How can you tell which hotels are along the boardwalk?

Goggle South Beach Miami maps and check out the area of Collins Ave.
The hotel website should tell you if it's located beach front.

We are staying at the Airport Marriott Courtyard overnight before a cruise. I was wondering if anyone has taken a Uber from the airport area to South Beach? If so, how long is the trip and what is the approximate cost?
Thanks in advance

Taxi and Uber cost have already been discussed. What I absolutely recommand is to do it! How boring a night entirely spent at the airport, and how exiting to spend some time visiting South Beach, especially Lincoln Road, Espanola Way and Ocean Drive!
