Dedicated in 1990, Kenneth Treister's striking environmental memorial is dominated by the Sculpture of Love and Anguish, a 40-foot-tall outstretched hand, reaching to the sky.

This memorial is definitely worth the visit. Lots of extracts and pictures to read and look at, which we found very emotional. The structure itself was very moving.

What's nice is that it's outdoors. Powerful especially the rotunda in the middle with the statues. A very solemn place.

Not much to do, but you can spend an hour there looking through everything, plus it's free. Near the convention hall, and Lincoln rd. mall.

We took the trolley for free going to Lincoln Road Mall and then we had searched in the area that the Holocaust Memorial is just a walking distance. And so, we walked there and when we arrived the place is heart moving as it exhibits...More

We walked from the Loews Hotel one afternoon. The memorial is self guided and has many works of art. It was a moving experience for us.

We were walking and saw the rising hand which was intriguing and made us want to check out, which we did. This was a very sombering experience walking through history of this tragic time in history.

So don't let yourself get fooled but "just the hand" in front of if. Walk around and discover the many details of the whole memorial. It is very different from the one in e.g. in Berlin, but very moving, too.

One should really take a min to stop and see this for yourself. There's street parking in the area. It's also shaded by trees so not a lot of direct sunlight

There is no charge for admission, however, we do accept donations. There is a city parking lot adjacent to the Memorial.
