Having traveled extensively over the last 25-30 years Atlanta airport falls under the lowest level possible for connecting convenience, very misleading signage if any, mass confusion on passengers / travellers both arriving and departing. For the staff whenever they were located at arrivals and for our returning journey in the departure areas landside the staff were extremely rude, uncaring and more to the point less than sympathetic to any aged group of passengers.
There appeared to be a general don’t care attitude adopted by every single member of staff.
Then came the transfer from International arrivals to the domestic terminal ( 30+ mins ) to then get a poorly signed sky train to the car rental areas and car parks. The whole airport, infrastructure, facilities, and staff attitude absolutely stank. If having to return to the US, Atlanta airport would be a port to avoid entry from.

I made connections via CLT many times, but this review is based on originating a flight from Charlotte. Here’s the reason why I give it a less than average rating:
1) old style x-Ray machines that require you to remove large electronics from your carry on
2) the seats (at least in concourse E) do not have electrical or USB plugs
3) the airport does not have Clear
4) no priority check in ( at least fir AA, and it’s their hub)
5) no carts to ferry people around unless you request one in advance
6) walking distance between terminal as long as 22 minutes
7) the moving walkways are typically a 1 in 5 chance to not be working (today in concourse E three were out of service)

On a plus side, they do have ample food and shopping choices but not enough to overcome all of the negatives

The signage is lacking. After dropping off our rental car we had to guess at how to get from the garage to the terminal. Other travelers were also lost and an employee directed them.

We entered in the baggage claim area and had to guess where the TSA checkpoint was located. Once we came upon we were barked a request for our boarding pass by an attendant.

Once we got to the TSA desk after the long zigzag maze we learned that this TSA was non pre check only. So much for paying for the PreCheck. The PreCheck was located somewhere else. The TSA was real good about processing are payment for PreCheck.

This used to be a friendly and relaxed airport but it’s becoming one of those hubs to avoid like ORD and ATL.

I travel a lot and Charlotte airport has the rudest and disrespectful TSA and gate agents every time I come through here! I do not know why this is allowed.

Avoid this airport. Staff are incredibly rude when asking genuine questions. Once you’re through security there is nowhere to get some fresh air so you’re stuck in an area heaving with people. Not many options for food or drink. Virtually no duty free. There’s a small shop which sells a lot of stuff but charges an absolute fortune. $9.99 for some toothpaste if you need it ✌️

United airlines is the worst airlines to take .They damaged my two luggages causing 4 holes on both bags and deep scratches all over the 2 luggages .When I informed the baggage claims they refused to pay for my luggages stating it is a wear and tear situation. My luggages are barely 3 years old and still new based on the good care I provide .The customer service at the airport on January 18th by the baggage claim staff was a shame .They we’re very rude , mean and inconsiderate. They kept turning me round and round and asked that I contact customer’s service when they new I wouldn’t get any help .One if the staff who did she was a supervisor asked to give me a $50, 00 travel bonus for both bags which I declined because the right thing was for them to pay for the bags .This proposal was an indication that damage was done to my bags..I stayed another additional 2 hours plus and they cared less , and didn’t want to attend to me or exhibited feelings of not wanting to address the issue. This airlines needs employees who are empathetic. It’s a shame and will never use them again .

Traveling from outside the US makes for a good first stop in the US. Short walk to Immigration. Short lines. Friendly immigration officer. Short walk to get our baggage. Easy out to give our luggage back for our connection. Have to go through security again for our connection. Terrific traffic in the hallways getting to our next gate. Waits for airlines to get in and out of this airport. Rather go to Philly of Ft Lauderdale. Forget Atlanta.

We are picking up friends today who flew into Key West and made the mistake of checking bags it has been over an hour and they are still waiting on their bags. This is the second time in a week that we have picked up friends and on the first incident the plane sat on the tarmac for 50 minutes waiting for a baggage cart to be moved so they could get to ramp. You should avoid Key West Airport at all costs!

It is what it is--- not the best looking airport--- has a look of being old and tired.... TSA this time were human, and human--offers a lot of flight options.. Long term parking OK... I must say the "man " handling checked bags of Dec 18 for United Airlines was a POS....

After returning from Europe, you come into the United States CLT. Right from the beginning as you come out of the airplane to look at your ramp, dirty, You look at the walkways, dust and trash everywhere, you come to the main concourse, carpet really worn out. Next time I rather go to one of those blue bathrooms than at this airport. Worst than some of the so-called Third World countries I have visited before.
