Living in New England, I'm no stranger to gilded age mansion museums; Newport, RI and Lenox, MA are both only an hour and a half drive from me. That said, Vizcaya is one of the best I've ever been to...especially when the gardens are taken into account. Everything was stunning in the house and those gardens are straight out of a fairytale! The planning and painstaking attention to detail were obvious throughout. I would actually make a point to return here even if only in Miami for a short time, such as before/after a cruise.…

Beautiful Grounds and an impressive mansion. They have a free audio tour, but it was clumsy to find the right track to listen to for each stop. We gave up on it and just walked around and admired the scenery. Also, if you enjoy watching InstaGram Selfie-Queen's then this is the place to go, they were everywhere.…

Beautiful house and gardens. Lots of history and interesting artefacts. Beautiful location right on Biscayne Bay. Well worth a visit, if you can afford it - which is the big negative. $28 per adult for a visit in Dec 2020. So $84 for our group of three. I find that outrageous for a public place owned by Miami Dade county. Regressive taxation in action. Only the rich need apply. …
