Built in 1916 as a winter retreat, this lavish villa is a tribute to the Italian Renaissance. The museum contains much of the original furnishings and artwork, and is surrounded by lush, formal gardens.

The visit takes you through the stunning mansion of an american heir. Gardens are specially beautiful, but the thing I liked the most was the ocean view. It takes about 2-3 hours to complete the tour. Too bad they don't have enough audioguides, when we got there they were out (and the museum was not too full). There is a... More

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a great look at the glory days of old Miami when money was no object. The gardens are wonderful. The real treasure is the home itself. It has all the original or period furniture, artwork and tapestries.

I was pleasantly surprised by Vizcaya Mansion and gardens tour. This place is not far from downtown Miami and worth the $17 or so to tour the large house and grounds. There is an Italian style large home as well as lots of walking gardens. I enjoyed the gardens more than the home, but both are worth touring. The garden... More

Very informative tour of the beautiful mansion and grounds. I would recommend that you either take a tour or rent the headphones to really appreciate the uniqueness of the museum and the wonderful grounds. Plan on spending a few hours to engage in the beauty and history of the this area.

The Villa Vizcaya and surrounding gardens well exceeded my expectations. This is a lovely place to walk and wander. I spent a full two hours here and do not feel that I saw everything. (*I'd like to know when their floral season is, as I can only imagine how beautiful the gardens are at peak!) The cafe is quite reasonable... More
