    Close Encounter Safari Experience
Our trip to Lion Country Safari included a private VIP behind the scene tour. Although we initially thought it seemed pricey, our tour experience turned out to be PRICELESS! Our tour guide, Kimberly, did a most amazing job sharing her 14 years of experiences and educational guidance. Our in-depth close up encounters with the animals was like being in Africa! This is an absolute MUST DO experience on any animal lovers’ bucket list not to be missed!
Thank you so much for booking a VIP Tour and sharing your amazing experience with us! We will be sure to praise Kimberly for the impact she had on your fantastic day on safari and we hope to see you again in the future for more WILD fun!

    Great family outdoor trip
This place is amazing you get to be face to face with certain animals while you are in your car. You could watch as a water buffalo cross in front of your car and a monkey sits on top the hood of your car. After driving thru safari you could go to the zoo and it has a restaurant. After going to the restaurant you could feed the giraffes you will have to bring some change to get the lettuce. After you could just walk thru the zoom and enjoy rest of animals.
Thank you for visiting and sharing your feedback with us! Driving through in the comfort of your own car while wild animals roam freely is a truly unique experience. While guests do enter at their own risk, our animals are accustomed to the vehicles that drive through each day and there is very little concern. Apes are in habitats surrounded by water out in the drive-through preserve, so they can't actually get to guests' vehicles. We're glad you had an amazing experience at the park and we hope to see you again soon!

    Fantastic day out
This park has so much to offer. The safari drive itself is great and well organised with an audio tour via your mobile phone. Its very safe but with great viewings. Then there's a whole other park with water slides, splash pad, rides, animal interactions, cafes, shops....etc. We've been twice in the last week (got summer pass tickets which are amazing and valid until end of August)! The rides are definitely more suitable for young children but the water slides and animal stuff would interest older kids too. You get to see or even feed (extra $5) giraffes which is awesome. We'll definitely be back again before we leave Florida.
Thank you so much for spending the day on safari and taking the time to share your positive feedback with us! You touched on so many aspects of the park that we're so proud to offer our guests, such as the complimentary rides and water features, the value offered in our Summer Savings Pass promotion, and of course our amazing animals. It would be our pleasure to see you again before your time here ends, and we hope you'll be back in future years as well!

    Very nice safari experience
Excellent safari experience.. nothing special though in the zoo area . Started this experience with our car . Very nice safari.. we ve seen variety of animals . Further on we left the car i the parking and entered the zoo.. I would give 5 stars if they had better zoo. Iv seen much better zoos out there
Thank you for your positive feedback! Our walk-through adventure park is where we have complimentary mechanical rides, water attractions, miniature golf, paddle boats, and interactive animal shows that guests can enjoy during their visit, and we usually recommend several additional hours to enjoy this area after the drive-through safari. We hope to see you again in the future for more fun and adventure!

Great drive-thru safari. Lots of fun. Highly recommend.
This was an amazing place and a lot of fun. Pretty large drive-thru safari with lots of animals. All the animals EXCEPT the lions have free roaming privileges and are not enclosed in any manner (other than within their designated wildlife area), so you can se them crossing the road in front of you if they so happen to do so. The lions have their own plains to roam in, but are enclosed (otherwise, there wouldn't be much of a safari left). After the safari, there is a nice animal exhibit area. Like a small zoo that has some birds and whatnot. Quite a lot of fun as well. Highly recommend going to this activity, even though it is quite a bit out of the way, at least from Miami.
Thank you so much for visiting and sharing your detailed positive feedback! We appreciate any guests that drive up from the Miami area and elsewhere in South Florida. The experience offered here is unique, and can take an entire day to fully enjoy all that we have to offer. We hope to see you again in the future for more WILD fun!

    A lovely place to be
Great experience in a beautiful park. We had a friendly reception. The place is clan, organized, beautiful. The animals are close enough to be seen, but they also have their privacy. They looked well treated. A nice experience!

Neat little taste of African safari
I took my Mom to Florida as she hadn’t been there in years and hadn’t ever seen a whole lot aside from usual city tourist attractions. I had been to Lion Country before and knew she’d love it. Definitely use the audio tour (free from website) that you play through your phone through your car stereo. It plays along giving info about what you are seeing and as long as go no more than 5 miles per hour, it keeps on track and talks about what you are seeing as you go. The animals are so healthy and seem so happy. The areas in which they live are beautiful and natural. No awful cages here! You have to keep your windows closed. And drive very slowly as ostriches and rhinos may walk across the road right in front of you. Was so much fun to watch a mommy and baby lion play and play - jumping on each other and play swatting. To see rhino bodies and giant bush bucks so close was really neat. They do lots of conservation and clearly have great breeding programs as there are so many young animals. I couldn’t believe that there were like 20 rhinos and several babies. I’ve never seen so many giraffes all in one place. It takes about 1 - 1.25 hour to drive through the whole thing. You can pull over and stop to watch as you wish. There is another part of the park with kiddie rides and walk through areas which we did not go through but looks sweet. Go! You’ll love getting a little taste of an African or Indian safari. Be respectful and go slow and don’t get purposefully too close as to disturb the animals. We were glad we didn’t see any cars doing anything inappropriate that would harass the animals.
We appreciate you visiting and taking the time to share such extensive feedback with us! It's great that there were so many elements of your visit that you considered to be worth highlighting, and it's especially sweet of you to have brought your mom so she could create her own amazing memories on safari with us. It would be our pleasure to see you again in the future whenever you're in our area!

Up Close and Intimate with Nature….
A rare opportunity to be up close and intimate with exotic animals of the world…. It all begins with a drive through safari experience among free roaming giraffes, emus, rhinoceros, lions and much much more. My first visit to Lion Country Safari was back in 1974. I experienced the same thrill I had as a child now as an adult. Lion Country Safari offers many ways to encounter wild life in natural settings including opportunities to hand feed the giraffes to petting zoo experiences … This is truly special. You will have a wonderful day and great for the entire family !
Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback and reminiscing about your first visit shortly after we opened back in 1967! While we have updated many attractions and amenities and added new species over the years, our mission still includes providing family-friendly fun and educating our guests about these amazing animals and the conservation of species in the wild. We hope to see you for many more visits in the future!

    Try it. You’ll like it!
My visit to Lion Country Safari was a tremendously enjoyable day. The park is immaculate and well tended throughout. All of the animals looked to be content, alert, and meticulously well cared for. The “Safari” which is the drive-through the park was a complete winner. With the trip taking a little over an hour, we saw flocks of birds and so many animals up close along with caretakers who were looking after them in the wild. At the end of the Safari, we decided to have lunch in the restaurant and wow it was a great experience. The facility was a family-friendly restaurant that was spacious, new, immaculate, and attractive and the food was absolutely terrific. I had a cola and a smash burger that was the best burger I’ve eaten in a long time. My companions had salads that they loved. You really don’t expect crisp and delicious salads in a park like this, but Lion Country Safari pulled those off beautifully thanks to a friendly and helpful staff. For dessert, we each chose the pineapple Dole Whip that was a refreshing and delightful treat. We each made some purchases at two different gift shops that are well above the average attraction gift shop - nice jewelry for instance. Friends of mine have told me what a great experience it is at this park, but I had no idea how good it would be until I visited. Next time, I will take advantage of more things that the park has to offer and might even consider staying in a cabin overnight. As an old commercial says, “Try it. You’ll like it!”

What a joke!! Three or four lions sleeping in the grass somewhere! Come on man, rename the place “Antelope Country Safari”; or at least build a swift running stream and let the Wildabeasts run across with some alligators taking them down! Something to justify the cash dump!

Thank you for visiting and taking time to share your feedback with us. We're sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We typically have most of our 10 lions out in guests' view each day, with lions on both sides of the vehicle as guests drive through the habitat. Lions actually sleep up to 20 hours a day in the wild as well, but the best chances to see ours being active are in the morning and late afternoon. Many guests spend the entire day on safari with us, enjoying all the complimentary attractions in the walk-through adventure park and sometimes even driving through multiple times. Thank you again for providing your feedback and feel free to email us at guestservices@lioncountrysafari.com if you would like to discuss your visit in greater detail.

The Lion Country Safari and the Lion Country Safari are AMAZING! We are staying at the Lion country Safari KOA campground and hearing the Lions and the monkeys from our camper are amazing. First thing we did was to purchase an unlimited pass for the Safari. Driving through the park was all we hoped for. The KOA campground is great. Only negatives was the massive 30% price increase from last year and the restaurant in the Safari. Our hotdogs were cold and we could not get salt for our fries or relish for the hotdogs. I highly recommend the KOA CAMPGROUND AND THE DRIVE THROUGH SAFARI. The restaurant… not so much. David Sisler

It was not too busy so we were able to use both lines and could park for a while to watch the animals. Also the Giraffe feeding is a great experience although it was the most expensive salad leaf we ever had :)

2024 New Year’s Day
Monday, January 1st, 2024 1pm-4pm
4 adults, 1 child $267

We decided on Lion Country Safari to kick off our new years. Purchased our tickets online and received e-tickets via e-mail. Open 365 days per year including Christmas and New Year’s Day.
***we took zero pictures or videos as we were determined to put all phones/tablets away and be fully engaged with one another and our little adventure***

ARRIVAL
Drive up lanes/booths where they scan your QR/e-tickets, receive a map and drive through the safari. Windows up and locked the entire time. Radio channel that describes the animals as you drive pass them. (No animals came up to our vehicle this time but a zebra came up to someone else’s and was doing something to their tire as everyone watched).

DRIVE THROUGH SAFARI
We absolutely love this little adventure and the fact the animals are free to roam (except lions) while we admire them. We saw zebras, rhinoceros, ostriches, giraffes, monkeysand more.

PARKING/OTHER ATTRACTIONS
We parked and went inside for the nature walk, petting zoo, water park, paddle boats, kiddie rides, mini golf, shows/demonstrations, animal encounters, food/snacks. (We ate before we went but while there we got a pretzel, slushy, popcorn, water; don’t recall the cost).

We got quarters (change provided inside the restaurant) for fish food dispenser for the fish, ducks, swans and other birds.

We paid $5 (they accept credit cards) for a few large pieces of lettuce to hand feed giraffes which was fantastic. You walk up a short ramp to higher observation deck and they come right up and eat endless lettuce from everyone. They are so stunning up close. We truly loved this.

The petting zoo was delightful as well and we also bought some food there to hand feed the goats (I think that was lettuce too). Most of them were friendly, one snipped at some child but nothing major and others were ramming one another playing. Super cool to engage in and observe their behavior. One made friends with us and wouldn’t leave our group and if it did it came right back to hang out with our family pack, we named him Jeff. They have hand washing station which is recommended before and after.

We purchased $3 tiny nectar juice and the birds would fly over, land on your shoulder and drink from it which we throughly enjoyed and spent some time at. Although one snipped at my son he said it wasn’t a biggy that it was a baby and hungry. Even though the tiny nectar juice is small for $3, we fed plenty of birds and we’re still able to hand it to another child who didn’t have one to engage with the birds which made them so happy.

All in all the day spent there was brilliant, everyone loved it, wanted to stay longer and engage more, the weather was fantastic, staff was friendly, animals were stunning, place was clean and organized. I can’t think of a thing this place is lacking.

CONS
-I know there are summer passes which include this place and others like it in the tri-county area because we have got two before. But the summer is brutal to be outdoors so we are glad we went in January with cooler weather. Wish there was a Florida resident discount or any time of discount.
-Bees; so many bees surrounding each and every garbage can (garbage can in parking lot and everyone inside), my brother got stung in his arm. He said it was no biggy but it was swollen and he kept a cool water bottle on it.
