This park is small but it is great for a few hours away. It has Lady Liberty (a large tree) and of course the remains of the Senator (an even larger tree that was burned down by some lady). It has a great place for kids to play and two covered picnic areas as well as a wooden walk through... More

Beautiful day at the park. A lot of shade and the bike trail was very nice. Shaded in a lot of areas, paved and very wide. There is even some mountain bike trails for he more adventurous. Definitely will be coming back. Covered picnic tables and a small playground. Of course the amazing 2000 year old tree was very impressive.

This is a nice place to stretch your legs and get a little peace in the woods. The board walk leads you to where the Senator once stood, it's sister tree is nearby.

Big Tree Park is a place for a quiet piece of Florida history. It has a playground for children, a wooden walkway to see natural setting of flora and fauna and the famous 'Senator' and 'Lady Liberty' Cypress trees. Tucked in between two main roads, you forget you are so near to civilization.Just remember the insect repellent, this is Florida and with... More

It's a nice enough small city/county park. Nice children's play ground. Short trail into the forest. But the Big Tree, the Senator, is gone. Burned down by a looser drug addict. Very sad! However, a great bicycle trail starts just outside the park, and goes all the way to Oviedo where it connects to the Cross County Trail going south... More

This certainly was a nice park but missing some big trees. There was one that was fairly large but I'm told an even larger one stood here too but burned down. It is a nice park. Certainly worth a stop if you're in the area just to relax.

Ever since the tree was burned down you really have the option of a playground or staring at a large stump. The playground is nice for kids, plenty of tables, and the grounds are kept up with. The tree itself has been destroyed but I still recommend visiting, for the way it makes you feel when you see something so... More

The Big Tree Park, located in central Seminole Country, is a wonderful escape from reality amongst businesses and residential areas. There is an interesting nature boardwalk explaining the native plant and the histories of two huge Bald Cypress trees, one of which was recently burned down by a drug-crazed woman

This is a small park that used to feature two attractions: two very large and very old trees. But an arsonist burned the larger one to the ground, leaving only the smaller. Now, this park was never going to rate high on anyone's bucket list anyway - large trees just aren't *that* exciting, but it is a nice little park... More

I go to Big Tree Park frequently to walk the bike trail over to Spring Hammock. I took my grandchildren to the playground and they loved it. They are 3 and 4. The park is shaded, nice walk on boardwalk to the large cypress tree, good bathrooms, and good parking with covered pavilion.
