My family of four visited this beach for my sons 7th birthday while we were on vacation. It was very pretty and the waves were not too much my kids to handle. Coquina beach cafe right on the beach has snacks, and a store with floaties, towel and other beach essentials. They also rent the beach chairs and umbrellas. If... More

I don't beach anymore although love to see water and those who enjoy it. I pass through on my way to Manatee Avenue in Bradenton. The beach has parking, picnic benches and I think I saw grills and bathroom facilities, near restaurants I grew up in Brooklyn, Bay 2; Atlantic Ocean, active water. Gulf is calmer, although warmer, and used... More

Coquina Beach is one of our go-to beaches on the Florida Gulf Coast. I often stop here while cycling to Anna Maria Island from Sarasota. The first entrance has a bathroom for changing clothes and outdoor showers. The beach is white sand bliss and NEVER crowded. The pine trees provide nice shade in which to escape the heat and enjoy... The tree shaded beachside walk is perfect for an early morning walk followed by breakfast at the beach cafe. Afterwards you can settle in your beach chair and enjoy the ocean view before the crowds show up at noon.

This beach is wonderful. Beautiful, wide sandy beach, gorgeous water, (do watch flags for rip tide warning). At the right day and time of year, it is the most relaxing experience you could imagine. Go to the south end, away from the concession stand. Another warning--Unless you love wall-to-wall people and huge trucks bringing in their own monster grills/smokers/cookers, and... More

This is a lovely spot to while away the day on the beach. The pine trees at the back of the beach make a shady spot for a picnic and the beach is glorious. Its huge, empty and the sand is white. The sea gently laps and is so clear. Try to beach café for a morning coffee. There is... More

Coquina beach has it all. Large, white sand beach, gorgeous water, clean bathrooms and concessions with chairs and umbrellas to rent if you need them. We usually stay on Anna Maria island but switched to longboat key because we always found ourselves driving to coquina. Nice baywalk across the street and good crabbing at the docks near the boat ramp.

During the week it is almost deserted during some times of the year. But during the weekend the beach is hopping with families. Just beware of the strong current near the pass and heed the flags posted at lifeguard stations. Plenty of parking and picnic tables as well. Their is also a biking and walking trail for those who are... More
