This theatre was built in the 1920's and has been kept in it's original historic style. It hosts a number of events throughout the year, from dinner and movies on the weekends, to Rocky Horror Picture show every year at Halloween. It has a great balcony setting along with a snack bar. This place is a great date night or... More

The Polk Theater is an "atmospheric" built in the early 1920s that has been lovingly restored to it's original glory complete with clouds at dusk giving way to stars in the night sky soaring above facades resembling an Italian renaissance courtyard. The multi-use facility even featured a young rock-n-roller by the name of Elvis Presley in 1956 long before the... More

A friend and I went to the Polk Theater to see Gone With the Wind and thoroughly enjoyed it. The theater which was built in the 1920s is well-maintained. We were surprised to be treated to a live organ concert as we entered. This is a real gem and well worth a trip to take in an event or movie.

Our first visit to Polk to see Tommy James and the Shondells and what a great old theater it is! Comfy seating, friendly and helpful staff. Popcorn and beverages make it a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Appreciate the foresight and investment folks make in keeping these old places alive!

Polk Theater is the perfect place for a date. The historical theater has so much character with the twinkling stars in the ceiling and the European style windows along the walls. Loved sitting in the balcony which even had its own snack area. Before the movie, and organist was playing their lovely organ in the front of the theater. Beer... More

This place must be experienced! It takes you back in time and it's so beautiful. They staff are 5 star, the snacks are much cheaper than a typical movie theatre, and they have a great selection of beer and wine. We go every chance we get!

The historic Polk Theater is one of the few remaining "atmosphere" theaters. The only other I have attended was in San Antonio, Texas. Built to represent an Italian village, the stage and background are just amazing to look at. The high balcony takes you back to the 1930s, and offers unobstructed views to all patrons. Showing an eclectic mix of... More

The Polk Theatre takes you back to a long forgotten time. When people wore suits and dresses to a theatre, and that was a "jolly good time". Visitors will be pleasantly surprised. You must keep in mind that this venue is run, maintained and managed by Volunteers. They work hard to preserve history and maintain a quality venue. No, everything... More

Saturday night is a perfect night to catch a movie at reasonable prices in a unique atmosphere. You may purchase wine, beer, soda or water for very little money and the snacks are priced low as well. The theater usually shows Independent films you are not able to catch at the franchise theaters.
