This Thai place of worship has very impressive entrance with several small temples inside. They all have large Buddha statues of different sizes and poses. It’s located in a very quiet and serene area and is very peaceful. One can meditate or pray in any of them. They had a spring festival on Sunday when they offered free vegetarian food to the devotees. One has to remove their shoes outside the temple to get in. There is free parking in the grounds. It’s free to enter but donations are welcome.

I had time to kill while waiting to check into my room as I am running from the Storm Surge and the Hurricane. This place sounded Interesting on line. I parked and started to walk around when I was met by one of the Monks. We talked briefly and then he left to go back to what he was doing. The building architecture is both interesting and beautiful. This is the kind of place that either you will like and that's why you go or you skip it because you are not interested in the first place. That being said I found it very interesting. The one building was occupied by a women chanting which was both interesting and kind of relaxing to listen too. After she was finished and left I left my shoes at the door because I noticed that's where she had left hers. Went inside to look at the murals and the, well I don't know what it was to be honest? But it was very interesting to see. Look for the signs hanging around on trees and posts. Found them to be interesting also. I dropped a few dollars into their donation box as they are raising money for a new building and there is no charge to get in. Free is rare in this city! Used up an hour + and was happy I did.

A classic Wat in the middle of Orlando -- WHO KNEW?! I found out about this place and convinced my sister to come with me, and she was flabbtergasted. She's lived in Orlando for almost five years now and had NO idea. We both loved it. It really looks like a little piece of Thailand right there in the middle of Florida. The monk we talked with was really sweet and friendly. He talked to us a little bit about Buddhism and informed us of weekly meditation seminars. The architecture is just beautiful, and the colors are very rich. Very peaceful atmosphere, even with all the opulence. Loved it.

Looking for somewhere to experience beauty and tranquility? This is a MUST SEE in Orlando! This Buddhist temple is open for services (ALL are welcome - check out their website for service times). Grounds and temple are also open during the day for those that just want to explore their beauty and to ease their soul. Please be respectful though, peace and quiet rule here and when entering any building, it is custom to take off your shoes. This is an active temple with monks living on the grounds. If the monks are not in service, they are friendly, welcoming, and are happy to answer questions. They also have many events throughout the year - the food during these are amazing! If you like this temple, also make sure to checkout the Wat Mongkolratanaram Temple in Tampa, FL (Brandon).

Wat Florida Dhammaram is a Buddhist Monastery situated in about seven acreas of peaceful grounds in Kissimmee, Fla.

Yesterday when we left the house to go to Disney Springs we took a little detour to make a pit stop first.

As we quickly passed by what it seemed to be a glistening something from the corner of our eye, we suddenly turned to each other and in synchronicity, Marcia and I said, “What was that?”

You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize what we had passed was something special. What we didn’t know was, how special it really was.

Yes indeed, back we went.

As we walked through the semi majestic grounds with bigger than life statues adorning temples of a much smaller scale, you can’t help but to notice how clean the exterior of the buildings are.

So immaculately clean are the front facade and entrances, you can’t stop yourself from opening each door of the small buildings which house some magnificent sacred spaces.

For me, to paint visual images of the detailed spaces that encompass the interior of the Temples, would not, could not, capture it’s humbled magnificence. So, with the effort of presenting a very sober rendition of what Marcia and I experienced, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Be blessed.

We had a wonderful walk around beautiful grounds and authentic buildings and were given information by a helpful monk. It is a beautiful place and a reminder of how to live our lives better.

Wat Florida Dhammaram is a very beautiful and peaceful location. You can go into the Thai Temples and see the magnificent decorations and Budhas. The Monks are very friendly and willing to explain their religion to you and explain the items. It is well worth the time to see it. In October, they have a special food festival which is wonderful.

This is intended as a place of worship and not a tourist center. It is beautiful and absolutely breathtaking. Just off the main 192 highway in Kissimmee it is just up Old Vineland Road behind the Bealls Outlet mall. We were admiring the temple when a religious person came outside and chatted with us for a few minutes they showed us around as a religious outreach. For a few minutes of absolute peace and religious outreach take 5 minutes from 192 and see this beautiful temple.
