Nice quiet morning.

Enjoyed the 2 mile walk. Quiet. Looked for birds animals and snakes. No entrance fee and a nice escape from the crowds.

A great place to find some peace away from the theme parks and shopping centres. We visited one afternoon, and there were about 5 other cars in the car park, and we only saw 4 other people. There are two walking routes marked, and there are lovely views of the lake. Another bonus is that it is free!

We took the 6 miles trail, on a weekday morning. Very quite, saw no other hikers and no wildlife. A little disappointed, with the "Disney" name we were expecting a more exciting destination. Nice walk in the fresh air, but not worth the time when there are so many other exciting places to visit in the area.

This was a wonderful way to end our trip to Central Florida. We visited on a quiet Sunday Morning and ran into Gail, a very informative and generous volunteer who gave us loads of information and pointers. There is a wonderful hike to Lake Russell that is worth taking( flat and about a 3/4 mile walk). Beautiful vegetation, birds and... More

We decided to visit some little known Disney stuff and decided to drive out to the Wilderness Preserve. We were able to hike a couple of miles to the lake which was really beautiful. It is nice to see the "real" Florida and how beautiful it is. We did see quite a few critters including two snakes so make sure... More

We walked as far as the very wet trails allowed and apart from a few insects we saw nothing. We actually saw more birds in the car park than anywhere else It was extremely quiet but not much more to say.

Upon entering the preserve we saw three Sandhill Cranes and four more by the visitor center. Took a show walk along the trail and saw a bald eagle fly from a tree. Also, saw several butterflies.
