Nice break from the hustle & bustle of Orlando. This was a Friday morning and there were 3 bus loads of students there, most were I think 2nd graders, who were more interested in running around than learning, but the open spaces made it easy to stay out of their way. There were 3 female historians dressed in period clothing giving historical accounts of the family who owned the homes. Bless their patience with the kids. Nice tour for $8.

We’ve been to a lot of similar pioneer villages in other places and this one wouldn’t rate as highly as others. We love history, but I found this one to be less engaging than others. It was very minimalistic in terms of information available and there is nothing interactive in the experience. Having said that, it was a nice place to get out and walk around and a very nice break from the busier local attractions.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this historic park as we walked around and read the story of how this area of FL came to be. The buildings have been very nicely done and cared for. I have been coming to this area of FL for more than 30 years and didn't really know much about it prior to Disney's coming. It was interesting to learn "the rest of the story".

Pioneer Village offers a unique look at life in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The buildings are great representation of early life in Florida. Great experience for my teen daughter and myself!

A small set of of floridian houses and buildings from the 1890`s in a "cracker" style. The houses gave a real good sense of history and how hard life would have been for the early settlers in the area. There is also a small museum which houses artifacts from the local area. All in all worth a look for history buffs if you are in the area. The only fee is a sugested $5 donation to the historical society.

The history of central Florida was based on the indian culture named Seminoles ( Seminola) those names are used in theses days because we have in Florida a relationship with indian culture. You can enjoy a sweet enviroment with manners and you can visit their booths showing the culture of the Old Kisiimmee like the train, the typical wildlife animals of Central Florida, St. Cloud history and the name of OLA is used because it has relations with indians. Like Lake Ola, Seminola, Osceola and you can revive that sweet culture of Mickey Mouse and the indians solitaire lands. I like it and also it was my first time that I can see an alligator so close to my eyes because they have a booth showing an enviroment of a lake with a live alligator but safely obvious and you can see it as clase as one feet in the water tank where my kids was so excited when we all watch too clse the alligator. What I dont like is is too small I think you can see the museum in less than one hour and later you have nothing to do. It's near from Old Town so it's wonderful to combine the same day with a visit to Old Town it's like 8 minutes ffar and at the same road ( US 192) so you don't have to do a lot of turns right turn left. It's free but they work for gratuities, that day I left 8 dollars for us (5people). I like it a lot very professional and clean and friend staff but you want more because it is beautyfull!!!

For $5 per person you can stroll through historical buildings of what life was like a few years ago. The staff are very nice and helpful. We went self guided and read about the history of each little building. Restrooms were clean and we went across the street for a little nature walk and got to see a couple more buildings (you could not go inside of those).

We love history, so this was so much fun. Al our guide was sensational, funny and able to give lots of information. The cost is $5 per person whether you have a guided tour or just tour on your own. I suggest the guided tour very highly. Lots of interesting things to see in the buildings and you also get information about the citrus industry (past) in Florida. Take the time to view the large trees on the property.
The Village will be moving to another location (not sure when, so check the web site) because more structures have been donated. However, the new location will not have the huge trees.
Across the street is a nature area. There is no cost to walk the trail, which is very walkable and part of it is a beautiful boardwalk. We walked the trail to the end and then walked back. I think this took us about an hour...some good needed exercise. The palms are beautiful and you also get some swampy area views. There are some outside restrooms at the end of the trail.

Saw the sign on 192 and turned to visit it - we were eventually approached by a young lady who had been smoking a cigarette and chatting to another female. When she was ready she approached us and directed us to the General Store which was also the start of the tour. This wooden building and the other four buildings contained interesting artefacts and our lady guide talked us through some of them. It was not a particularly great oratory but kept up our interest to a degree. We were left to tour the school room on our own and advised to visit the blacksmith shop and the fruit processing shed whilst our guide met another party and began showing them around. We were directed to wait at the fruit processing shed where she would meet us later. We waited 15 minutes and no sign of our guide who was busy showing the other group of people around, so we gave up, feeling slightly neglected and disappointed. Not a great experience by any means.

We were very disappointed to hear that your visit was not top notch while you were at our facility. If this happened to us, we too would be dismayed! We are proud of our organization and strive to instruct our guides to be professional, knowledgeable and courteous at all times. We sincerely apologize to you and thank you for sharing your experience with us so we can fully investigate this and make the necessary adjustments to our training, staffing, and management of our guides. We assure you that something like this will not happen in the future. Thank you for your interest in our attraction which is great for families and offers a unique experience to folks interested in learning about Pioneer life in Osceola County when this area was being settled. We welcome all our visitors and want them to have an enjoyable and educational experience at our Pioneer Village and History Museum.

First of all the museum is now located on Irlo Bronson Parkway a few minutes from the Pioneer Village. It just opened last summer and has lots of interesting displays. It is free, although they accept donations. The pioneer village is on North Bass Road. It costs $5 for adults and $2 for children 6 to 12. You receive a personal tour, can ask as many questions as you wish, and take as much time as you like to look and take photographs. My husband and I really enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.
