I took a 3-day sailing class at FKS. It's great to have private classes, so you get plenty of opportunity to gain experience. Captain GDub made the class fun and was patient, letting us learn from mistakes. The boats were comfortable and fun to sail. The water is amazing and we had fantastic wind. It's right next to a great... More

My hubby and I went to FKS to get our bareboat cruising certification, and it was an amazing experience. Captain GDub likes his students to be independent and self reliant. On the second day of our class we even took the boat by ourselves and anchored overnight in the open water! This is the school where you will learn the... More

My husband and I booked a sunset sail and an overnight stay with Florida Keys Sailing. When we got to the marina, GDub had the sailboat ready. We boarded with our wine and beer and set sail. We got very lucky, and got perfect weather AND a beautiful sunset! We sailed out into the bay and watched the sunset and... More

I reserved a sailboat charter in January but could not go out due to a small craft advisory. The owner GDub volunteered 2 free future days even though I only paid for 1 because we traveled so far. Since I could not coordinate a return trip with another experience sailor, I returned with my daughter who had never sailed and... More

A perfect day for sailing, good winds and clear sailing with Captain G Dub. He is a wonderful sailor and made our stay aboard a comfortable and exciting experience. Great guy and we look forward to doing this again on our next stay. Might like to try a longer sail down to Key West. Nice clean boat and air-conditioning if... More

My wife and I went to FKS to freshen up our sailing skills and get our certifications, and we were impressed with both! The owner of FKS "Captain G Dub" was a great instructor and getting to sail on multiple boats helped solidify what he taught in the classroom portion. I would definitely recommend FKS to anyone looking to learn... More

I recently took the 7 day ASA 101,103, and 104 courses here with my SO (see the NC review). I was an absolute beginner, never having been on a sailboat, so there was a steep learning curve for me. Gdub, the owner and instructor of the school, told me what books to read ahead of time, which is very important!... More

While I have been sailing for 40+ years, my SO (significant other) had never set foot on a sailboat in her life. Based on what we found in the schools web site we gave it a try and booked a 7-day bareboat certification course (ASA-101, ASA-103, and ASA-104 classes). What attracted us most was one-on-one instruction and only our party... More

One review mentioned how shallow Florida Bay is and I couldn't agree more. After spending a night gunk-holed at Cow Pens, we had a super hairy morning the next day navigating our way west to get to the Atlantic. Sailing from Marathon (Boot Key Harbor) to Key West is a wonderful sail. Another beautiful anchorage is Bahia Honda State Park,... More

My wife and I chartered the boat and combined a half day charter and a sunset sail. Had fun. We sailed and motored (not much wind but GREAT weather) to a lighthouse on a reef. I just sat with my wife on a bean bag on the front of the boat and drank beer. When we got to the reef,... More
