Specifically made an account to leave a review after this awesome experience. We went on a backcountry trip with Capt. Phil. He put us right on a great speckled trout spot and we caught enough for dinner for 5 people. It was also very fun active fishing. We put out some line for tarpon and bonefish. While the bit wasn’t there we caught some bonnethead sharks which were a fun fight on the light bonefish tackle. Capt. Phil also did a tremendous job filleting our catch helping us have a delicious dinner.

Very disappointed. Capt. Mike had friends in town, so he put us with Capt. Phil. After about an hour of fishing, some bad weather was moving in, so we had to dodge the storm. We thought we were heading to another fishing spot, since we booked a 3/4 day, but Capt. Phil took us back to Robbie's (while Capt. Mike managed to stay out and continue fishing). So were charged for a half day of fishing (4 hours), but only got 1 hour of fishing and 2 hours of boat ride. Capt. Phil said he was sure Capt. Mike would give us a discount for a 2nd day 1/2 day. I gave Capt. Phil my number. He said he would check with Capt. Mike on what that discount would be and get back to me. Never heard back from him. Called Capt. Mike very early the next morning. Got a VM. Called again later, straight to VM. Lost my business and a chance at a positive review.

Had a great day out with Mike and Phil. Friendly girl vs boy competition. The girls slayed it with a 3 hundred pound Saw Fish. What an awesome experience with two great guides. #robbies #islamorada

I booked this back country 1/2 day fishing trip directly with Capt. Mike. He said my husband and I would have a great time, well, we didn’t. First of all, we didn’t even get Capt. Mike, we got a cowboy instead. It was one disappointment after another. It was not a smooth boat ride at all, there were only 2 of us and he ran out of bait (??). We have done this back country fishing trip before with someone else and knew what to expect. Unfortunately with hurricane Irma, that fishing guide was unavailable cause he lost his boat and house. We felt “pressured” to give a tip with several “tip reminder” stickers on the boat. When we got off the boat - there was Cap. Mike - what? The 2 fish that I caught were then butchered with a dull knife by Capt. Cowboy into several pieces! Like I said, one disappointment after another. Since we didn’t get the experienced Capt. Mike (as advertised) it was not an enjoyable, satisfying nor safe fishing trip. Not fin-tasting at all. Buyer beware!

This was our 5th time out with Captain Mike. Great to see an old friend and catch up. Very east to set an appointment. Bring your drinks and sunscreen and prepare to get on some fish. The rest is provided tackle bait etc. The ride out to the hot spots is beautiful. His boat rides very smoothly and it’s a great time to chat. Once on the spots, grab the rods and start to get some fish in the cooler. We were getting snapper and red fish. Mike knows exactly where to go and will get you on fish. Its up to you to catch them. I would recommend for first time anglers up to experienced fishermen. Can’t wait to get back.

It was an extremely hot late July day so we decide to have some fun near Islamorada , and catch some snook, snappers and groupers. We chose light tackle, light rods and 12 lb line. Hold on , a 35Lb Tarpon doesn't know I'm on the other end of this light line. A 10 minute battle getting this guy to the boat, anybody can use a winch and 100 lb braid, but Capt Mike coaches me the whole way. Great fun on this trip
Lease your heavy stuff on the dock and have some real fun with Capt Mike.

We chartered a boat with Capt. Mike while on a family vacation at Hawks Cay Resort. Mike was so easy going, laid back and knowledgeable! He took us fishing, cousin' and to the Islamorada sandbar. He let us choose where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do but you should trust his experience and expertise as he led us to some cool Bonnet sharks to catch and great areas for snapper! Total blast, super professional and above all friendly and courteous!

Captain Mike took our group of 4 on a back country half-day fishing trip. He even agreed to take us out on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday. He is a fun guy and we had a great time. He did a fantastic job taking us to all the right places. All of us caught plenty of fish!

My Dad and have fished together for 50 years and have been to some incredible places. This trip with Mike was something we will never forget. It wasn't just a day of fishing it was an adventure! The boat ride alone was worth every penny. He had us on the fish immediately and all day. We caught 8 different species including snook, redfish, shark, sea trout and more. We even lost a tarpon on the last spot!
