We are a fully accredited museum in the Florida Keys. Come discover a museum rich in history! We have amazing treasure in our 1622 Fleet exhibit of the Spanish galleons discovered by Mel Fisher and his crew. Also thought provoking Spirits of the Passage and Key West African Cemetery exhibits to glean insights into the transatlantic slave trade and Key West's unique role in it. And don't miss our three new exhibits -- Spanish Coins in the New World, the Real Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Science of Shipwrecks. You can even take a lab tour to see how history is revealed through excavation and conservation of shipwrecks. Make plans to visit. We're open seven days a week, 365 days a year!

I think there is an emphasis on selling stuff here, but you might enjoy seeing some actual artifacts, and finding out more about what the late Mel Fisher started. Best for history buffs, and those already knowledgeable about the Atocha treasure. My wife got bored!

It seems the amount of displays and exhibits seem to have declined or been removed over the years. I would not recommend this museum.

My husband and I watched the Discovery Channel program on the journey and recovery of the Atocha. It was fantastic to see the treasures for myself and to actually be able to purchase a small piece of it. Priceless!

Most Floridians know the story, there is much to see but way too much slave trade history which has nothing to do with Mel Fisher or treasure hunting.

The actors were fantastic and the stories equally as entertaining. The structure and tour were amazing. We just loved this outing and highly recommend for anyone who ventures to Key West. You and or your family will not be disappointed.
