Some good scenic views but also lots of tall bushes, trees and ulgy buildings along the drive to Key West. Drive speed limit. We saw lots of police cars waiting and watching.

Lovely ride and gorgeous views as we were driving down to Key West. Water all around. It would be lovely by bicycle or moped for sure.
First trip on the Overseas Highway for my wife and me. I expected more bridge travel and not as much land (island) travel. It is a good mix but be aware that speed limits are highly enforced. Was pleasantly surprised that the town's are larger...More
My family and I we have made one day trip from Miami to Key West, and back. It is to long way to do it like that. I Europe this distance you can do in 3h. Not in the States. There it takes 4h or...More
If you want to get to Key West you have to go on the overseas highway and for me it never gets old, its amazing to see the old bridge run alongside the new one and the pelicans or dolphins if you are lucky
I took the drive from Fort Lauderdale all the way down to Key West and loved every minute of it. The views of the sea are spectacular, especially when you're driving over one of the many bridges that connect the islands. The drive through the...More
Rented a convertible and drove from St Pete to Key West, stopping at various Keys along the way for lunch and shopping. Comparable to the Pacific Coast Highway in scenic beauty (much less rugged of course) but MUCH easier to drive. If renting a car...More
This was a long boring trek from Miami. Next time I will travel by air. You drove between 35 and 55 mph....and it was mostly a 2 lane road. I did it once before and must be to old now.
It's a long trip so you have plenty of time to view everything around you. The views of the ocean are great and the color of the water is amazing. Seeing the rain shafts so far out over the water are great for photos.
Was nervous at first to drive across all those bridges but the views were so beautiful, i didn't even think about it! We flew into fort Lauderdale and drove to key west and it was an amazing experience! There are tons of little places to...More
