A good day for a walk

The park is big but the area that you can walk through is relatively small. Lots of trees and various plant species. Saw many tiny lizards (Anole, maybe?). It was VERY buggy, so I would bring insect repellent to wear. They ask for a small donation on the honor system. It was nice, but not something I'm running to go... More

there iare nice walks in the park, nature is explained with lollypops sticking around whiich don't always pick the best specimen. You can watch butterflies in the season and birds or treesnakes... since the night animal are all sleeping when you visit! Be aware of moskitos! There are guided tours ! ask in John pennekamp state park!

The trail was clean and well maintained. There was a lot to see and learn about the trees and plants that are on the island. The only bad part was that the far part of the trail washed out, so we didn't get to walk the whole loop, but we still enjoyed it.

A Decent Stroll park but sometimes this full loop can be flooded with water make sure you check fellow walkers before attempting. Interesting we could see so huge spider nets along the path, When we visited it was very quiet with less Birds but most of the walk way is covered with trees so even on a hot day its... More

Overall, not much to do here but worth a stop if you are driving through Key Largo. If you've seen Mangrove swamps elsewhere, this is no big deal but, I did manage to see a Mangrove Skipper which was fun for me, as I'm always looking out for butterflies.

The path is wide, the terrain is fairly level. Easy walking. Bring water and your sense of curiosity along !

This is a very nice 2 1/2 mile stroll through this state park. Something new for a midwestern hillbilly! You can never learn enough about the ecosystem that makes the Florida Keys tick. There is so much more to do if you only open your eyes. This little park is no exception.

There are 1 1/2 mile and 3 mile walks. We took the shorter one but as pleasant as the walk was there was not much to see.

We didn't know what to expect but this was a neat park. Plan on walking a good bit to see the whole park.

The trail is just a green tunnel through a former housing develpment. There is an old man made canal through the center. I would not call it scenic. I visited ion December 26 and there were still mosquitos. There's really nothing interesting about it. I say a total of one bird on the loop so there isn't any wildlife to... More
